Curt,

Excellent colouring on the wall, it has that black soot look that a boiler house would have.

Curt, those bricks look fantastic already!

Afternoon All,

Thank you Jeff, Jerry, Ron, and Rick for following along and your kind comments.

The roof is as done as it can be until installation. The pieces were cut to 3 different sizes. The painting was a dark brown rattle can, black rattle can on the ends, Vallejo dark rust, MM rust, then AIM  light and dark rust, and finally dirty rust weathering powder.

One change I made was the roof cap. The kit says to cut it from heavy paper (provided) but I decided a corrugated roof cap would look better.

I painted the details using a wide range of paints acrylic and craft paints. I also used techniques that I learned from a previous SW kit.

Curt,

Nice coloring on the walls and details.
I tend to like the brown colors rather than dark reds when painting any brick structure.
Although this kit appears to be stones rather than bricks. Thanks for posting.

Howdy Curt,

I sure hope that roof doesn't leak.  ;)  It looks rusty!  Nice work on the details. The cart wheel and barrels look exceptional.

Have fun,
mike

Afternoon All,

Thank you Rich, Mike, Jerry, Greg, and Rick for following along and your kind comments.

Today I finished the kit and planted it on the layout by the RH. I decided to make it a deserted stone building.

Some of my thoughts on the kit and directions.

I wish the door and windows were separate and not in one piece.

I tried the oil paint "morter" and was underwhelmed. This may be because I'm not used to using oils. Craig definitely does well with them

I didn't like the paper roof cap for a metal roof.

The stone detail is outstanding.

Holy Smokes...very nice Curt...Well done!

terry

btw...I like those track stops in front of the F?

Jerry

It looks great Curt.  Nice placement.  I wouldn't call it deserted I think it fine for an older building in use.

Curt, pat yourself on the back, that's a very well done build.  I blends into the scene like it is supposed to.

Oh, and what Jerry said.  ;D
