Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

I saw Rick was in earlier so I waited to post. It's sitting in the mid 50's currently and supposed to get to the 70's later. Yesterday I hit the goldmine in the library. I found 3 books by two of my favorite authors I haven't read yet! ;D

In the train room I painted and weathered the smoke stack and blackened the guide wires. Of course this was after spilling dark gray weathering powder over the bench, floor and me. What a mess.

I'm not sure what's on the agenda today but MOH has a morning online business class.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Sounds like you had a major OOPS at the bench; it happens. That's some good looking coke; never thought I'd live to say that. Lol.

Rick you are a brave soul driving back East this time of year; be careful on the roads.

What's on your plate today.

It's 21 with a high of 25 in New York. Tomorrows Ellie's Birthday so I need to make a trip to the grocery store shortly.....that is AFTER I clean the car off....yup the white crap fell from the sky yet again. Then some bench time is in order to start nailing down some rail.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay warm.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Butty Curt.

I slept like an old man last night, wonder why? Oh wait, never mind.  8)

We are taking our daughter and her husband out to dinner late this afternoon. Should be fun.

Not much else going on from here.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning everyone.

Here in Grants, NM it's currently 26 and will be partly cloudy and 57 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Congratulations on finding those books.

Larry, careful driving today.

ACLTom, enjoy your dinner tonight.

Jerry, I'll see you in about a week.

Karl, sorry you had to deal with the hacked cards.

Ron, how's the backdrop painting going?

Dave, have fun with the boxcar.

Dave, your derrick is a masterpiece.

How's everyone else doing.

Far to much driving for my tastes yesterday but I'll be doing more of the same today.
Todays goal is to stop at Costco in Albuquerque and then continue driving to Amarillo, TX.
I stopped at a Walmart yesterday in Gallup, NM.
This was by far the busiest store I've been in.
There's no self check-out and each of the 20+ checkout lines had a line of people in it.
Apparently, it was because everyone got their SS and welfare checks.
Also, I was the only non hispanic person in the store.

I haven't taken any pictures lately.
Here's an oldie from North Dakota that I might have posted before.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Curt, Larry, ACLTom, Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.l  Like Larry, I never thought I would be saying this either, that is some great looking coke.  Great find on the books at the library.

Larry, hope you make it to the bench.

ACLTom, enjoy dinner with your daughter and husband.

Rick, safe driving.

Little warmer today with the current temperature of -15c (5f) and overcast.  A light dusting of the white stuff fell overnight.  No modeling yesterday, it was nice to take a break from it.  Not sure what today will bring.

Have a great day everyone.

Grey and cold in Michigan this morning, so is the weather... :(

As expected, I spent most of the daylight dealing with the card issues.  Then we went to an area Walmart, somewhat busy, too.  Not as many checkouts as Rick saw, mostly self check.  Gave up on Costco early last year, after 2 visits in 2 years $$+ each time.  Their customer rep gave me back $120 without any issue.  Those stores aren't near enough for us.  I did buy gas in Grand Rapids a few times and was always amazed at the folks that will endure that flood of humanity and insane traffic and parking.

We did watch the MI State hoops last night, too little effort but stayed within 1 point at the end.  Cornhuckers are good, too.

No plans for today.  Yet.

Drive safe, Rick.  Be well all.

I notice we're on Page 99 here, again

Good morning, all. There's been a little sun on the lower Merrimack Valley this morning, but mostly overcast with mid 20s.  Colder tonight and tomorrow. The kid is off the ship and waiting for his plane; after we will him it's Korean BBQ for a mid-afternoon birthday dinner for my wife.

My music digitizing effort is up to 7700 files with cleaned up naming & description, but that left no time for modeling the past few days.  I did do some historic research of the B&M, comparing the two main routes from Concord NH toward Canada. That will show up in the next update to my Unofficial B&M Page.

Good morning crew and happy new year to all. Missed a few days here since my last post.

Rick, what is making you return to New Jersey in the Winter? Best to you

We have the granddaughter till Monday evening. Her brother is playing in the UP of Michigan this weekend and started last night. They won. This morning's game Terry is watching on a streaming app and the referees are making sure the grandson team doesn't blow away this team. 6-6 and all 6 of Verona team's goals have been short handed. The daughter says the roads are snow covered and terrible in Calumet, Mi this morning. I went to the WeatherChannel app for Calumet! Look at the season snow totals!!!

Current Snow Cover (Estimated)
• Average Depth: Approximately 25 to 40 inches in open areas.

• Wooded/Hardwood Areas: Some reports indicate levels around 25-26 inches as of late December/early January.

• Snowmobile Trails: Groomed trails in the area are reporting a base of roughly 20 to 25 inches with "good" to "excellent" conditions.

• Season Total: The area has already received officially 97.25 inches of snowfall for the 2025–2026 season so far.

5" more expected by noon Sunday. They move on to Houghton though this afternoon for 2 games and then 2 games Sunday in Marquette. Sunday night they will overnight in Green Bay, visit Monday the Packer hall of Fame and head home. It's 2.25 hours from Lambeau home. No school for the kids till Tuesday.

Not sure if I want to hit the bench today. Though there is lots to. I started stripping 10 cars last night after doing 6 on 12/30. Those will be for my Wisconsin Interstate. There is now some commission weathering and then the power plant for a friend. The weathering commission was unexpected but hey a few more coins in PayPal is a good thing. Unexpected because the client stopped in August sending me work because I raised my prices. He sent me a text last week asking if it was ok to send equipment and what are my current rates! Higher than in August by $2.00 and postage rates went up yesterday I found out. But shipping has always been at its cost!

Larry glad your keeping the white stuff to your self.

Tom have a nice dinner out withth family.

Ron have a nice day.

Karl hope you figure out something for the day!

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/28.  later on 34.
The cold is getting better but still not to par.

Yesterday I wnet my cardiologist to get my meds refilled.
He wwouldn't do it over the phone without seening me.
Then out of a clear blue sky he  wants all these tests done.  THis is not going to happen.
Time for a new cardio guy.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  I feel your pain with black powder.  I am still cleaning two years later.  That stuff is tenacious.

Larry, good luck on the roads and playing the gandy dancer.

TomACL, wishing you a fantastic time with your family today.

Rick, brave man.  Safe travels east!

Ron, hope you enjoy time away from the bench.

Karl, hope the card issues are resolved soon.  I know your pain, and it is not fun.

James, wishing you a wonderful time with your son.

TomO, sounds like the Wisconsin Interstate is in the black with the new car purchases.

Jerry, good luck with a new cardiologist.  My doc told me once that the way they make money is through tests.  I believe him.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a rainy day in Georgia, but not too cold at 58°F.  I have several 1:1 tasks to do for the chief of staff, but I hope to get upstairs to make a ladder and put a roof on an outhouse.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started the day with a walk at 57F and very damp air from last night's rain. After the walk MOH showed me that overnight the fridge quit working (Kenmore). :-* I'm not sure how old it is, but it's at least 10 years old. On top of getting a new fridge today we have a skunk transport delivering Lucas to his new home about an hour away from us.

Yesterday I attached the tempering oven stack and guide wires. After that I spent around $200 buying paint, weathering powders and some 3-D printed animals to restock after my last 2 big builds. I looked through the directions and all I have left to do to complete the build is attach the chain to the beam crane mechanism and glue down the beam. That's probably not happening today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. A new fridge sounds 'spensive but necessary. Looks like your build will be coming to an end shortly; will this one make it to the layout?

What's your day going to be like.

It's a cloudy 19 with a high of 26 and hopefully no sn*w. Had a restless night last night spending more time than I would had liked making trips to the bathroom. Need to tear apart my household files to get ready for 2026, do some Trek stuff, and maybe finish spiking down my track. Today's Ellie's Birthday so making a crockpot of homemade ham & bean soup for supper.

Have a great day!! Be well, safe travels, and keep warm.

Not quite as chilly today as the last few days, it's 20 (versus 12-15 the same time earlier.)  But this warm spell won't last, more cold weather for most of the upcoming week.  The driveway still has its sheet of ice, I should go out and put some salt to make a safe path to the mailbox.

Yesterday I sprayed the HOn30 boxcar with a matte finish and attached the brake wheel.  I'll play a bit with alternate trucks since the Grandt Line trucks look great but don't roll with the replacement wheelsets.  And I'll decide which shelf orphan to start work on for the new year.
