Good morning. My section of Wisconsin continues its excellent run of wonderful weather. Back to the 80's today after being mid-70's yesterday.

Groceries this morning, track work before and after a 1pm lunch. Possible but unlikely grass cutting and then Volleyball on Campus at 7pm tonight

Mom and I were very close. Dad and I were not close but it was never contentious just a quiet relationship. The daughter has always, even today had a chip on her shoulder when it comes to Terry or me but we are much closer now. The son and I were I thought close. But he went off to school where he had his rebellion period for maybe 8 years before we started even communicating again even though he has always been close to Terry. The last 10 years though has turned around where we communicate constantly.

Great pictures Karl and Rick

Enjoy the day

Good morning Curt, ACLTom, Larry, Karl, Dave, Rick, Philip, TomO and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, glad to hear that Mia is happy in her new home.

Tom, that's a lot of writing.  :o

Larry, hope the 1:1 item is an easy one.

Karl, thanks for the great photos, hope the PT is going well.

Dave, I'm not a huge fan of Arduino's use of C++ either

Rick, enjoy your day.

Philip, have a great day.

TomO, enjoy the volleyball tonight.
It's currently 10C (50f) and sunny, another great day.  Took it easy last night so nothing new to report.

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon folks,

Curt, thanks for opening the day, the coffee, and the bacon.  ;)

TomACL, how did you avoid writer's cramp?

Larry, congrats on the bench time.

Karl, I remember harvest time when I was in school.  I rode a motorcycle from Oklahoma City to Norman through farmers fields, and the dust was blinding and tasted bad.

Dave, we are fortunate in the US.  Our education system may not be the best, but it is available to all.

Rick, it's another striking photo you've posted.  Hope the rain holds off.

Philip, it's nice to have a modeling companion.

TomO, good luck with the track work.

Ron, glad you had a restful evening.

How is the rest of the gang?

It's a bright day with 79°F forecast this afternoon.  Last night we enjoyed our annual Oktoberfest at a local restaurant with our daughter and SIL.  I had my usual, Zigeuner schnitzel.  That was the first meal I had when assigned in Germany in 1971, and I still love it.

This morning I finished the Masonic Lodge.  I installed the windows and attached the structure to the base.  I am leaving the bottom floor unfurnished for now.  I'll take photos after lunch and try to get one with the lights on tonight after dark.

I hope to begin work on the speeder to complete the maintenance shed scene and begin work on the gondola.  Wiring still awaits under the layout, ugh!.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,⁸

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, english muffins, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 74F with a very nice breeze. Yesterday in the train room I started working on doors and windows And today I'll start gluing them together and mounting them.

Every Saturday (except tomorrow) in Oct is tied up with the rescue.

That's it for me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Have fun with the kit.

Mike, you did a magnificent job on the lodge and look forward to following along on your next project.

Ron, I hope you get time to work on the layout soon.

TomO, who won the volleyball game?

Philip, how will Abe be featured on the layout?

How's the rest of the crew doing?

I ended up at friend Anne Marie's house yesterday.
I was here earlier this year and if you remember she also has a Storyteller and we did a bit of exploring Oregon together.
Star loves it here and already had the chance to chase some deer.
A hike is planned for this morning.

Sunrise at Mount Saint Helen's National Monument.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, much appreciated.

Rick, love the sunset photo.

I don't have writer's cramp, but I did get typing cramp once or twice. Yesterday, I reviewed the 12 chapters and moved a few stories from one chapter to another as it better fit the time line. And, I did finish Chapter 13.

Taking Emee to the vet to have her nails trimmed, then a trip to the grocery. After that home.

Today is clean the train shed day.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Good luck with the windows.

Rick, thanks for the compliment.  It was a fun build.  Glad you met up with a friend. Enjoy the hike.

How is the rest of the crew?

IT's another bright day forecast for 78°F later.  Sharon leaves on a trip with our daughter today.  I'm footloose and fancy free until Tuesday.  Of course, I have a list of 1:1 projects...

I finished the lodge and will figure out where to put it. I'm mostly back on the layout in general, working on scenery and planting a few structures.

Have fun,
mike

Still dry with near record temps the next few days, all weekend, here in SoMICH It's quite enjoyable.

I mowed yesterday after PT.  Took much of the afternoon as I took a horizontal refreshment period midway thru. ::) Saved making a 2 day out of it.

Today: Hmm...??? comes to mind.  Things to do.  Pick one. ;)

Enjoy the time there Rick.  Is Nat'l park under reduced availability due to the political jousting in our nations East Coast cess pool?  Gamesmanship in play.  Better, IMHO, it gubbamint stays off line for who knows how long?

Enjoy the day folks.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee; I'm skipping breakfast. Have fun working on the Kit.

Rick beautiful photo and it's nice you have a friend with the same interests as yourself.

Tom sounds like you're going right to town on your book. Have fun cleaning the Shed.

Mike the "honey do" lists seem to be never ending; speaking from experience. Hope you save some time for the important stuff.....like modeling.

Karl never heard of a "horizontal refreshment period" sounds relaxing. I'll refrain from any goberment comments; I wouldn't want to get bounced from here.

What's on your plate today.

It's another sunny day @ 48 with a high of 79 in New York; it was 44 @ 0800 when I ran my usual Friday am errands. Had to crack the heater on the car to keep the windows clear; seeing is a good thing. Moving along on my diorama and hoped to have it pretty much finished this weekend. Grinding up leaves this afternoon after the grass dries some.

Have a great Day!! Be well.

Good morning Curt, Rick, ACLTom, Mike, Karl, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, sounds like you are really moving along with the kit.

Rick, It's nice meeting up with friends and enjoy your hike.  Yes, there will be train time this weekend.

Tom, sounds like your making great progress on your book, can't wait to read it when it comes out.

Mike, now that the lodge is finished, what is your next project?

Karl, nothing wrong with a horizontal refreshment period.  ;D

Larry, have fun working on the diorama.

Another great day here with sunny skies and a current temperature of 8c (46f).  Nothing new here.  Time to get me a cup of coffee and then it's back to work, at least I'm working from home today.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning crew,

I need to walk more Curt.

Still slicing the Hobo scene. So far I haven't slipped. Rick I'm not sure what Abe will be doing. Posing as Abe perhaps :)

See you all around the forum!

TomO/Tloc

Good afternoon. My part of Wisconsin is heading to 88f degrees this afternoon.

I have spent almost 4 hours in the train room the last 3 days. Slow progress back but I'm getting there. Tie strips laid to replace what I took up in February. 3 Blue Point switch machines were added, then I laid the ties for all 3 switches that the Blue Points will control. The plan is let the switch ties dry till Sunday, set the frogs in the morning, go to Volleyball on campus and then lay the rails for the entire section inthe evening

Started the fade process for one of my own diesels

Currently on a lunch break and will spend more time on the diesel in about 45 minutes

Hockey returns as the ladies will raise the NCAA championship banner for 2025

Enjoy your day

Rick, the Badgers beat Illinois in VB.

I flew over Mt St Helens about a year after it blew. That's a picture that will never leave my mind. Company plane and pilot flew around it 2 times before ATC told him to move on

In the early 2000s, I'd check the webcam each morning to watch the growth of the small lava domes inside the blow-out crater.  And at night I'd look for lava glow.   (Mountain is in clouds today...)
