8) Sun and clear sky with hard frost, was in the 20s, now 320 with 1:1 still hanging on.  Drained and stowed hoses and winterized the power washer pump before mowing yesterday.

Little to add.  Be well all.

Safe travels, Tom

Good morning Larry, Curt, Rick, ACLTom, Mike, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfasts Larry and Curt.

Currently 1c (34f) and sunny today.  There was frost on the car this morning.  Managed some time in the train room last night as I painted the sky backdrop.  Will let that dry a few days before I tackle the mountains.  Will have to check on my acrylic tube paint stash to make sure I have the right colours.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all, thank for the coffee Larry!

Not much to add. I need to drain the hose and disconnect the bib. Pressure washer is in the basement. TY K9

Was looking at the hurricane pictures. That place is a disaster before the weather. So sad they live in filth like that.
Lord have mercy.

Glad your getting upstairs Mike.

Great pics again Rick. A modelers dream land?

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Pretty picture. Every time I hear or see Tonopah I immediately think of the book "The Stand".

Started the day with a grocery delivery. I was going to clean the vinyl fence today but I don't have the energy this morning, so I'll do it later this week. I guess I'll just have to work on the kit. Today I should complete the Tempering Shed with the awning and roof being added.

Karl pretty tree.

Tom safe travels and where in SC are you going to?

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good day to all

Up earlier this morning by 2 hours from yesterday's 7:30 wake up time. Haven't looked at the weather yet this morning bu opened the normal blinds and it looks dark out! Who knew? The time change is Sunday morning and next week at this time, 6:28 it will be light

Already have 90 minutes in going down the Ai rabbit hole. But at 8 this morning I need to head to the bench. I promised to deliver the now 44' double track kit-bashed girder bridge to my friend's layout. I have some angle gussets to add and then prime the bridge this afternoon. It will be fine for delivery tonight at 7

I just checked the weather app, it's 40f degrees heading to 55.

Movie today at 12:15. Going to see Springsteen. I honestly cannot recall any of his music. So we'll see if the movie triggers some recall. The other choices today, this week of Halloween are many new horror or 4 rotating classic horror, 2 dramas and 3 kiddie shows

Synopsis: From 20th Century Studios, "Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere" chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen's 1982 "Nebraska" album. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen's New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.

Fingers crossed Inenjoy it, but I do love music.

Enjoy your day

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Beautiful scene!! Safe travels.

Tom good luck bowling and safe travels to you as well and enjoy your visit with family. I can't even imagine the amount of $$ Zane has tied up the the layout especially with all the track-lights.

Curt, oh darn, you have to be at the bench today.

Philip good morning.

Tom O. good morning.

What's you plans for the day.

The sun's coming up at another frosty 28 with an expected high of 50 in New York. Been scraping the frost off the car windows the last couple of mornings; this is a preview of what's to come....yuk!!!!! A few errands to run then maybe some bench time.

Have great day!!! Be well, keep warm, and be safe.

Quote from: KentuckySouthern on October 26, 2025, 10:49:59 AMIcy weather yet again in mid Michigan with hard frost.  8) Sunny, tho, it looks better than it feels.

My Spartans fell flat again, the media folks have a big vat of grease ready to slather up the skids for the coach(s). A little bit too plain vanilla for them  ;) all the money floating around college sports is killing it, too.

We've a couple guys at OPS that do take on the attitude like I said. Sort :P  of irritating to me. One area, nationally renowned retired RR engineer, no longer with us, had a mean nastiness to his ops sessions with guys just lining up to subject them selves to his sessions. I walked out the last time he laid on a GDWTF >:( on me..."oh that's just "xxxx" I was told. Ironically I probably learned more about ops from him. But I don't go anywhere to be verbally abused and walk on eggshells all day.

1:1 seems to be looming today.

Be well

Hike safe, Rick.

At the OPS session last week during the 45 meal break I was at a table where they were discussing the ornery guy you bring up. One of the guys said have you only met him or operated on his layout. Guy said beyond the initial guff he was a great guy, but if at a Ops session on his layout, just don't mess up! I met him but never operated at his layout. Sorry but I'm with you Karl, if someone gets in my face playing with trains, I'm out of there.

Sun and chill, with a East wind today in MI.  May go to mid 50s.

Plenty to do.  Little to add to the discussion this morning.

Be well all.

TomO your friend's assessment was accurate as was yours

Well, I'm back to the usual retirement grind after the trip over the weekend.  Went to bed early and slept through the night...  It's sunny and seasonal, with some rain due Thursday (our town's Trick or Treat day) and Friday.  Later I'll head down to the exercise machine and try to remember what I was working on in the train room before we left for the trip.   ;D

Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast tick, safe travels.

Another sunny day here with the current temperature of 5c (41f).  No modeling last night but for the fun of it I did some research on photo backdrops.  Pricing I found were between $150 to $250US ($210 to $350CDN), I think for the price I'm going to paint mine.

Have a great day everyone.
