Good Morning All,

Breakfast today is coffee (I also have Tim Horton), cereal, bagels, yogurt, english muffins, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 72F and slightly higher humidity. Yesterday the kit finally made it to the post office! ;D  Projected delivery is Monday. I think it's more likely Tuesday.

Today after chores is wide open. MOH and daughter were supposed to do some spa thing but it was canceled last night.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Curt, I'll add some hot food to your list.

Breakfast is scrambled eggs with cheese, onion and green peppers. Hash browns and or biscuits and gravy. Drinks of all kinks on the end with bowls of fresh fruit for those cutting back.

Karl, yes, ouch!

I finally posted my first Davinci Resolve video yesterday. It is very basic but a pioneer effort on my part. I've learned a lot and more to learn but, I'm on the way. All I did was combine four videos I already had and added some title pages. Today I'll try something new.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Yet another day of faux Summer starting in Michigan, forecast does include a chance of rain late in the day and into tomorrow...what a giant sucking sound that will create if it occurs.

I'm getting around to run over to the S Side of Grand Rapids to an ops session at the Sunset Valley.  I'll be excited to see what the crew has been working on in the 2-3 years since I've been there.

I fired up the 3d printer station and was able to print one of the pre-loaded rook devices off the thumb drive.  My ventilation system worked well ;D , it was quiet and there was no odor complaints.  Just need to fine tune my skills and give it a go on a couple other prints the next few days.  I did encounter extreme difficulty in removing the rooks from the build plate, futzing one in the process.  :o

Enjoy the day all.  It does look like a bit of overcast settling in out the window.

Football is late today. ::)

Good morning Curt, ACLTom, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfasts Curt and Tom, lots of choices this morning.  :)

Curt, hope the kit comes Monday.

Tom, great video, it was real nice seeing movement on the railroad.

Karl, enjoy the Ops session today.

A really cool morning here with the temperature currently at 4c (39f), but at least the sun is out.  It is supposed to go to 17c (63f).  Ended up working most of yesterday but did manage some bench time last night. I finished the retaining walls for the west side of the valley and I installed it this morning.  I posted a small update last night on my layout blog.

Lucky me, I get to work again today but should only have to work till early afternoon, after that the rest of the day is mine.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Great news on the new kit; hope it does arrive Monday.

Tom is there no end to your talent? I'll check it out after this.I think I have room for a little egg and definitely a biscuit w/ gravy.....yum.

Karl I applaud you for getting into 3D printing. I'm sure the more you do it the better you'll get and look at all the $$ you'll save as well.

Ron thanks for your condolences. Maybe it's time to "take a mental health day" from work; I guess that's a thing now. Hope some bench time occurs.

What's the rest of you doing?

It's a clear & sunny 40 with a high of 71 here. Daughters coming over this afternoon; she won a raffle for free mums from a local supplier so those will go to her Mom. Maybe some bench time beforehand. Going to do an update on my Diorama thread sometime today.

Have an enjoyable day!! Be well.

TomO/Tloc

Good morning Crew from an extremely wet Wisconsin. A doozy of a T-Storm moved in starting around 4am and finally moved out at 7:15. I have not checked the collection beaker to see how much rain we received as it's still raining.

I love to see trains moving, very nice video Tom

Karl, enjoy the Sunset Valley. Have fun with the printer

We will have the grandkids for a few hours today. The daughter and a friend will use the tickets to the 11am Wisconsin/Maryland football game today. The Son in law is feeling better but the kidney stones still have not passed. So he's staying home to relax and maybe sleep if we have the kids. It's no issue for us. It's a must win game for the UW overpaid football savior coach now in year 3 of a rebuild they really didn't need to start. He moved completely away from a ground based attack with huge Wisconsin bred horses in the O-line. But the AD wanted something more exciting even though he was one of those horses in the O-Line in years past.

Enjoy the day

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Currently 54 and sunny, with a high near 75 later here in Washington.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and tomorrow for the breakfast.

Curt, good news on the kit.
Your comment about the waterfall picture wasn't one I'd have expected.  ;D  8)

ACLTom, nice job on the video.
There are ton's of videos on YouTube about using DaVinci Resolve.
I'm sure you've watched some already.

Larry, have a fun day with your daughter.

Ron, I saw your update yesterday but haven't commented yet.
I'll do that when I'm done here.

Karl, have fun at the ops.
Congratulations on the printer booth.
I saw one of those bigger green fire vehicles when I was hiking on Thursday.

TomO, glad your doctor visit went well.

Dave, how'd the chair turn out?

How's everyone else doing.

Spoke with Karl O yesterday and he's doing well with his treatments.
Found out the application for financial aid I filed at the hospital where I went for my blood clot was approved and I owe nothing.  ;D
Did some cleanup in the van too.
Not 100% sure yet what I'll do today.
Research will be done when I'm done here.

A smokey sunrise at Hurricane Ridge in Olympic NP.

Have a great day everyone.

Rick, chair came out OK, see the picture on my build thread.  That's quite the hazy sunrise!  Sorry the conditions aren't better for walking, even if they do make for some interesting photos.

I dug out the Wichendon kit instructions and started reading about the 2nd story interior.  I'll start building all the kit-provided parts for that today, along with a trip to the store and a trip on the exercise machine.  It's World Paella Day today, so that's what I'll make tonight.  (Actually, I make "Rice with Stuff", I don't make the 8-ingredient Valencia official paella.)

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee.
Funny thing Tim Horton was Geezer's favorite brand of coffee.

Tom thanks for the breakfast and a nice video by the way.

Larry have a nice day with your daughter.

Ron you're working way to much.  Don't they understand you have a RR to build.

Karl enjoy the OPS session.

TomO have fun with the grandkids.

Rick beautiful picture.
Glad to hear KarlO is doing better.

Morning Dave.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/68.  Maybe 70 later.
One of the grandkids is heading down in a little while.
I'm trying to get going on my build!!

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening and breakfast. Congrats on the shipment.

TomACL, thanks for the warm-up. Congrats on the video, it looks terrific.

Karl, safe travels to and fun at the ops session.  I had the same problems and bought a Wham Bam build plate, and it solved my problems with print removal.  Do you have FDM or resin printer?

Ron, hope you make it to the bench.

Larry, wishing you a nice Daughter visit.  Good luck with the diorama.

TomO, hope you have a great time with the grandkids.

Rick, congratulations on the medical costs. That's another amazing photo.

Dave, the second story sounds like fun.  Happy Paella Day.

Jerry, hope you enjoy your grandkid's visit. Bench work sounds good.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright day with a forecast of 89°F.  Today is the last day of summer, but the warm temperatures continue next week.

Yesterday, I painted lodge furniture. Today is baseball and football, so I doubt I'll make it upstairs.

Have fun,
mike

My current build is the Masonic Lodge and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Mike asked: I had the same problems and bought a Wham Bam build plate, and it solved my problems with print removal.  Do you have FDM or resin printer?

I have a resin printer Elegoo Mars 3Pro I have one of those magnetic build plates to put on soon.   I do have an older 3 post printer that uses weed eater cord ;) Its troublesome, and noisy. No where near the resolution of resin or even the current Much less expensive units now available.

Rick, your home run streak continues.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, english muffins, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Saturday was a slow day for me, but I did cut out the foam and thin plywood rectangles for the base of the kit (11x14) then glue them together with white glue and clamped them together overnight.

Today after chores I'll clean up the edges and probably paint it earth brown.

Kit status shows it made it to Orlando this morning so Monday delivery looks good. ;D

That's it for me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast this am. Nice to hear you'll finally be getting that Kit from SW tomorrow; you've certainly waited long enough for it and I'm sure you'll have fun building it.

Tom great video of a beautiful layout.

What's your day look like.

It's a sunny 40 with a high of 75 here. Our Daughter came over yesterday afternoon and we stopped at a local grower and bought some small pumpkins and also at a nursery and picked up a couple of Mums that she had purchased at work through a fund raiser. That'll be the extent of our Fall outside decorating. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Have a great day!! Be well.
