Happy Vets Day!  I hope everyone is wearing a poppy, although those are getting hard to find these days.  Last year I found a VFW unit selling them, so I bought 2 (one as a spare.) I lost the one I got in Canada, where poppies are MUCH more visible this time of year.

I might start installing the window castings into the wall sections of the machine shop today...

Good morning everyone.

A BIG thank you to all the veterans.

Some clouds and 85 here in AZ.

Curt, thanks for the coffee, eggs and sausage.
Hope you make good progress on the kit today.

Terry, nice to see you here.

Dave, hope the window install goes well.

Karl, hope those projects go well.

Mike, enjoy the movie and lodge.

Larry, those mis-casters are wrong far too often.

TomO, not sure what hurts more.
The #11's or the prices at the pumps.

ACLTom, glad Pam is feeling better.

Dave, thanks for your service.

Jerry, hope to see pictures soon.

Ron, any progress on the backdrop?

Had a very nice afternoon with my Daughter yesterday.
Today a short hike is planned with the kids.

This was at Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada.

Good morning Curt, Dave, ACLTom, TomO, Larry, Mike, Karl, Terry, Dave, Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Seeing as today is Veterans Day, Remembrance Day here in Canada, a huge thank you to all veterans who served unselfishly to protect us.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, hope you have better luck with the foundry walls today.

ACLTom, glad to hear Pam is feeling better.

Rick, no progress on the backdrop yet, probably this weekend.  Enjoy the hike with the kids.

Another dull day with some more white stuff in the forecast today.  Current temperature is -3c (26f).  Last night was the first night of my 15 minutes a day modeling regimen and while I didn't get any modeling dome last night, I did spend time to start my thread in building a small fleet of boxcars, so that counts as modeling time.  8)

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at a feel like temp of 40F but no breeze. Brrr.

Yesterday I finished painting the walls which included doing the first 2 over again. They look much better to my eye. I'll do an update after I get the windows and doors in place along with a few metal details epoxied on.

Today is floors then errands so probably no workbench today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. I'm looking forward to your update.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning at 39°F, headed to 66°F.  Yesterday's events went well.  Today I have 1:1 chores, but I hope to get upstairs this afternoon.

Have fun,
mike

Early up for me for some reason, 0500ish whiz break with a wide awake and lay still until a "XXX-it..get up" around 0630.

Temps at now 0715 are already in the mid 40s but there is some high wind in the area.  Sun 8)  might come by the neighborhood later in the day.  High chance of Aurora lights was dashed by overcast, another high possibility tonight, IF, it clears off.  Boy did that snow we had, heavy "heart attack" snow, bring down the leaves!  Real fugly is settling in to the scenic views.

1:1 had me repair a sagging front door.  Over loaded my knowledge base but Utoob gave me an idea that worked well, longer screws at the top hinge drawing it back in line.  Thanks to my nagging cheerleader for pushing me to action.  Over rode my lazy/unsure self.

Made a 3d print with few issues yesterday and that was nice.  Now to learn more of the CAD thing so I can print something useful.  Fusion 360 I'd used in the past is so different it's like trying to learn greek with a blindfold.  Still at step Minus 2 in the FreeCad tutorial.

The Doll backed a Butterball turkey the ADA version, no legs or wings, yesterday.  I prepared stuffing and cranberries and made the gravy.  Mmmm...been eatin' pretty well lately.  too well, the BS meter says.. :o  Sticks and berries all day today. :P

No plans have come to the fore yet this morning.  Need to turn up the heat and prep the coffee maker.  Felines think it's an early eat, it isn't.  >:(

Be well all, enjoy.

The Floridian, 4.5 hrs late yesterday just rolled into the Elkhart stop on cam at a minute early!

Rick

Good morning everyone.

60 now and cloudy with a high of 82 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and good news on the modeling front.

Karl, good news on the 3D printing and meal menu.

Mike, hope you make it upstairs.

Jerry, any plans for today?

Ron, 15 minutes a day is a great plan.

How's everyone else?

Didn't do too much yesterday.
I did move all my clothes from the crappy Walmart plastic drawers that were nearly impossible to open and close to new storage bins.
It's not a perfect solution but hopefully better.
Didn't do the hike with the kids.
Mom's a procrastinator.
Took the kids for a walk around the neighborhood with Star instead.
Van wash is this mornings plan.

Good morning Crew. It's a day trip for us. Heading to the western shores of Lake Michigan to that wonderful eastern Wisconsin city, where Terry grew up, Racine. Where the high on the lakeshore will be 51 while at home it will reach 58.

I usually drive a mostly 2 lane highway coming home but night driving fighting the on coming lights will put me on the 4/6 lane Interstate 94 this evening. There will be a stop at Hiawatha Hobbies whose discounts and sales are seemingly fewer. I pre-ordered Monday for pickup and they said yesterday it's ready. I'm getting ready to scratch build a paper mill.

Enjoy the day

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Real life can muck up your modeling time; I guess that's why it's called a hobby.

Mike hope you make it upstairs today.

Karl don't ya just hate it when the bodily functions interrupt sleep; welcome to old age. Sounds like you're progressing well on the 3D printing front; keep at it and you'll be a pro in no time. Nice the sagging door was an easy fix.

Rick has to be tricky trying to keep everything organized in such a limited space. I mean it's not like a house where you can just do an addition. Nice photo.

Tom O. safe travels to you and Terry today. Please post some pics, or start a thread, on your paper mill would be interesting to follow.

What's your plans for the day.

After about 3 inches of white crap it's warming back up the rest of the week so "bye bye sn*w"; at least that's my hope. Lots of H2O in the stuff so when you step it immediately packs down; damn Lake Ontario. Received a letter Monday from my car insurance company stating they are transitioning to Commercial only so a trip to see my insurance agent is in the plans for today; didn't know they could do that. Maybe some bench time this am.

Have a great day!! Be well.

A neighbor got a good Aurora photo during the brief early evening break before the clouds moved in.  I went out after he sent it to the neighborhood (Scotch Club) list, but couldn't see anything.  Various neighbors house lighting didn't help.

Back to the Machine Shop windows in a bit.
