Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, much appreciated.

My thoughts and prayers for all here who are suffering from one issue to another.

Pam continues to improve. She is up an moving around but gets tired very easily. Her cough though is clearing up. She had all the symptoms of Covid but was tested negative.

I have bowling at noon and don't really feel like going.

I've only watched one Gator game this season. I record the games, it they win, I watch, if they loose, I delete. This way it saves me time.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Those tarts sound delicious.

Dave B, it sounds like fun rummaging around old boxes and bins.

Rick, glad you had a great hike with the kids.

Larry, hope the sneaux doesn't interfere with Tday. Hilarious golden age quote!

TomACL, good to hear Pam is improving. That's a novel approach to watching football, lol.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's raining like crazy here.  Temperatures aren't bad at 62°F, headed to 74°F. I finished the NBW trial by fire and hope to move on to the walking beam today.

Have fun,
mike

Canadian Thanksgiving is in October.  When we lived in Vancouver, co-workers invited us to their house for Canadian Thanksgiving, and then a month later they were at our house for US Thanksgiving.  (I smuggled a turkey across the border, the turkeys in Canada were MUCH more expensive than in the US.)

Speaking of Vancouver, we're considering the Rocky Mountain railtour trip from Vancouver, through Whistler to Quesnel, then to Jasper.  CN plans to give up its lease on the trackage north of Squamish next year, so this would become 'abandoned mileage' unless the Province wants to take over the maintenance.  The trip is Not Cheap, though.  (I swapped some nice emails with a reporter from the Squamish local paper talking about the situation.)  We've done the drive on Sea-to-Sky highway from North Vancouver to Whistler a bunch of times, and once drove further northeast to Cache Creek.  Definitely some spectacular scenery along that road!

More of them in politics?  ;)  I think the stores use cheap or rather less expensive turkeys to get you in the store and sock it to you on all them udder stuffs...

Rain and 'warm' (40s) and falling off the cliff late in the day.  The weather guestimater has snow and schmutz starting overnight tonight and into the Thanksgiving period.  Wind and lake effect through the weekend could dump a bit on us.  btw, I got the snow gear on the Deere yesterday after noon.  The dealer didn't have the wiring part I needed, I ordered a generic one off eBay for $50 less.  Also found out it goes to a sensor that allows the auger and blower to continue to run when backing up instead of stalling the blades on the mower function.  IF it doesn't get installed quickly I can still give the snow a go, just hold the button down in reverse.

3d contiues to go ok.

Little to add.  Everyone have a fine day, travel safely.

Uh, Karl, my observation about relative cost of turkeys between US and Canada was from the mid 1990s...  But yeah, US stores do sell turkeys as loss leaders.

Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, and no we do not celebrate American

Thanksgiving (as Dave has mentioned ours is in October) except the stores now have Black Friday sales.  As for Turkey prices here they are more expensive in Canada as is most meats.  This is probably due to the fact that the Canadian government are more strict on the amount of hormones and other additives that are allowed in the meat sold here.

No modeling last night as by the time I got home from work, made supper and ate, I was done for the day.  We shall see what tonight brings.

Have a great day everyone.

Define READY... ??? Newest forecasts add in 45-50 mph winds, that scares me.

Good morning everyone, when you all get here.

I've started a pot of coffee since I'm up and the first to arrive.
I've only had two hours of sleep due to the agonizing pain in my leg.
Two months ago, I severely cut my left leg on a jagged iron horseshoe pit pipe in my yard while raking leaves.
The pain is so unbearable it drives me out of bed abruptly, with no relief in sight, ever.
The wife says I'm a big baby, that she's seen many cuts on animals that were much worse than mine. (She used to work for a Vetrinarian)
I can't start breakfast yet due to no one else here, dang, it would be cold anyway  ::)
So, just coffee it is for now. And here's my "quote of the Day" for ya'all!

Vietnam Seabee

Hey buddy..sorry to hear about your leg pain!!!
Thanks for the coffee.

Good morning everyone.

49 currently but sunny and low 70's later in AZ.

Philip, thanks for the coffee.
Sorry about the leg pain and hope you can get some relief soon.

French toast for breakfast today along with sides of bacon and/or sausage.

Ron, did you get 15 minutes in yesterday?

Jerry, good talking with you and Diane yesterday.

Karl, is the Deere set to go for the winter?

Dave, that rail trip sounds nice.

Mike, how's the kit progress going?

ACLTom, hope Pam is doing much better and how was bowling?

Larry, any belt line progress?

Dave#5, hope you and your wife are feeling better.

Curt, any kit progress.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Got my hair cut but the tire shop was too busy to rotate my tires.
I got a 9 AM appointment this morning to get the tires done.
Then I'll pick up a cake for desert for tomorrow's dinner.
Got caught up calling a few friends yesterday while sitting outside enjoying a cigar and a bit of bourbon.

One more from my Kingman hike.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and coffee Rich. I hope you get some relief from your laceration. You might need a Tetanus shot depending on your last one.

Started the day with a walk at 64F and clear. Yesterday I got the roof installed on the office and weathered. Also, I started working on the foundry and work room roofs. Both are the standing seam type. The Foundry roof is fairly complex with added details on it.

Today is floors then I'll continue working on roofs.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Thanks for the coffee Rich and breakfast Rick. I love the smell of coffee but don't like the taste.

Rich, hope the leg heals very soon. Two months is a long time to still be feeling severe pain. Was it a deep muscle laceration?

Rick, I hope the tires get done today for you.

Pam is much better, thanks everyone. She did laundry yesterday and I folded and put it away.

Bowling was very unusual, my score at least. I had a 606 total. All games were 202, 202 and 202. First time I ever bowled three like scores.

I have lots of neglected yard work this morning. Hopefully I can get back to the work bench if not to "stoved up" after.  8)

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.
