0730 and still dark in MI.  Temp said to be ~390 and dropping.  I can hear the wind and see the branches of the big pine outside moving around in what is going to 50mph winds. A fun day on tap.  We have a vet's appointment at 11:30a 20 miles SE of us.

No coffee here for me, like ACLTom I like the smell but not into the taste, ever.  Some Michigan Maple Special Blend I buy for the Doll is fantastic as it brews or just open the bag. She drinks half a dozen cups as a jump start in the morning.

Yes Rick, the Deere is ready.  I'm not so much so :P

Pennman, sorry about the leg.  I hope there is some relief soon.

Thanksgiving tomorrow at one daughter's.  We have to have two sessions thanks to bullheadedness, I enjoy the food but have to miss OPS Saturday while we have TurkeyII at the other daughter's.  Add in the sudden wintry mess it should be a well fed if stressed out weekend.  The Doll will spend the next week parsing comments and conversations... :-X  :-\  like a CIA analyst.  ???

Be that as it may, everyone here, thank you for all your conversation, encouragement and wonderful friendship over the year.  THANK YOU!

Glad to hear Pam is over the bug... Hopefully that's the only experience from Flu season.

Typical November mist and gloom, but warm, heading to 57 today.  Ugh, that means I can't use the back porch as the auxiliary refrigerator.  I think we have all the fixin's for Thanksgiving, and I'll start the brining this afternoon.  The exterminator came today, there's one corner of the attic where the little buggers have been active, and we can't figure out how they're getting there but nowhere else in that same room.  There's no obvious path from the outside to that area.

add I went back and read Rich's post (I got a chuckle from the coffee photo), sorry to hear about the chronic pain from the old injury.

Good Morning,

Rich sorry to hear about your leg; hope it feels better soon. Just a thought a trip to an emergency facility might be in order if the pain persists. Great quote and thanks for the java.

Karl hope you don't get that kind of wind; at least the trees should be bare so the wind can whistle right through. Sounds like the turkey won't be the only one stuffed....2 big dinners....dang.

Terry morning.

Rick thanks for breakfast.Sounds like you're have a busy day ahead. The belt line progress is coming along in between the H-D-L of Ellie's.

Curt have fun roofing.

Tom glad Pam is feeling much better and up & about. I bet you couldn't come up with those 3 scores again if your life depended on it....freaky. Easy on the yard work.

Dave the 5th, good morning. How's your wife doing.

Dave critters can be a real PITA; hope you figure out their "modus operandi" soon. Have fun with all the fixings.

How's everyone else doing.

It's 50 with a high of 58 in New York, Tomorrow the temps go down in the basement. They have revamped our forecast for Thursday; looks like we dodge the "s*ow bullet" until after 7pm through Saturday am. At least I won't have to worry about our Daughter driving home Thanksgiving. Speaking of T-day, since none of us really like turkey we're starting a new tradition and having a pork roast instead with all the same fixins. FINALLY completed the H-D-L this morning; now it's on to helping with the cook'in. Maybe some time at the bench???????

Have a great day!! Be well and hope you're on the mend.

Have to join the crowd and sample Rich's coffee.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee Rich and the breakfast Rick.

Rich, hope the leg starts to feel better real soon.

Mild day here today with the current temperature at 3c (37f) with a high of 9c (48c) but it's overcast with rain in the forecast.

No modeling last night but I did download and install FreeCad and played with it a little.  I think it's going to be a steep learning curve there.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, everyone. Rich, did your leg cut get stitches?  Bernd, I remember DMSO as a seriously scary solvent doing chemistry, because of the long list of toxins it would carry through skin.

Switching Seashore's work equipment solo yesterday was a big contrast to doing it with one in the cab and two on the ground. When I started railfanning up close 55 years ago, the Newburyport local didn't have a fireman, but retained two brakemen helping the conductor. A lot of skill and experience was reflected in how they positioned themselves to get work done quickly.  I only try to reproduce this when switching alone; I wouldn't want to do it with modern 2-man crews; lots and lots of idling while waiting for the conductor to complete another 10-20 car walk.

Good morning folks,

Jerry, thanks for opening.

Rich, thanks for the coffee. Hope your leg heals soon.

Terry, Construimus, Batuimus!

Rick, that's some unique terrain.

Curt, the foundry is progressing well.

TomACL, good luck with the yard work.

Dave B, top of the morning to you.

Karl,  that Deere needs a heated cab.  Nice rig.

Dave, good luck with the critters.

Larry, have fun as the sous chef.

Bernd, good to see you here this morning.

Philip, happy Thanksgiving Eve to you, too.

Ron, I'm a software guy and have tried all the 3D CAD programs.  None of them are easy to learn, NONE!

How is the rest of the crew?

Nice crowd in Geezers today.  Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

This morning's activities included take Sharon's car to get new tires.  :o  We'll be eating beans for a while.  We ate brunch at Cracker Barrel and picked up celery and green beans for tomorrow's meal.  I haven't been able to get upstairs in a few days.

Have fun,
mike

It started today at noon. Just dug out 70yr old backup if it gets too big for the Deere.
