Good morning Larry, Rick, Curt, ACLTom, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, looking forward to the article when it comes out.

Rick, sounds like you are having too much fun with the family.  ;D  Enjoy another day with the family.

Curt, you have to hate when that happens.

ACLTom, have fun working on the kit.

Karl, enjoy the football game.

Another cold one here with the current temperature of -13c (8f) but at least the sun is out.  Thanks everyone for the well wishes for the Mrs, she is doing much better.  Managed some time at the bench and completed the boxcars sides and posted an update on my build thread.  Hopefully some more bench time tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning everyone

Larry thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Glad to hear the radio worked.  And congrats on the article.

Rick it sounds like your having a ball with the family and friends.

So where did you post it Curt???

Tom looking forward to the update.

Karl that is a nice looking little layout.
Thanks for the picture.

Weather in South Jersey and the "WEATHER WEENIES" got it right this time.
We have about 7" of the white stuff and it's still coming down.
The day will be spent at home.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning from what feels like a day off coming from the bench. Spent most of Saturday at the bench till 9pm when the wife said "you've had enough". It was nasty cold yesterday when you include the wind chill. -5 is not bad without the wind but -20 and your crazy to be outside. Same today. At 9:30 CST it is -4 real but -23 wind chill.  High is supposed to be +9 but wind chill below zero even then!

Today the grandson is in suburban Green Bay with puck drop 30 minutes late already. Terry will be watching the streaming from there on her laptop. Packers play at 3:25 in Denver and the Badger VB team play at 6:30 on ESPN2 for a chance to go to the Final 4. They have a chance and that is all a good team can ask for.

Will I hit the bench today?  Not feeling it right now. Lots of little issues yesterday and lots of blood. I let a #11 blade get dull and slip right into the tip of my thumb. Stopped at the recently trimmed nail! I'm a bleeder due to blood thinners and higher than it should be blood pressure. Man it was all over me. Took a while to stop, compression, Isopropyl Alcohol, medical CA, bandaids and maybe 20 minutes later I was back at it after changing all 3 blades I was using yesterday and my fleece!

I am building a cover for a concrete pillar near the swing bridge I built for a friend. He had lots of weathering oversight on the bridges. The power plant to cover the pillar is " do what you do". He dropped off some structural styrene parts yesterday and did not even want to see it. Fine by me. He is a retired engineer and is a stickler for minutiae. Great guy, good friend and will have a hell of a layout if we ever get it done. He has diagrammed where even the screws in the framework go. Triple deck layout in a 3000+ sq ft finished basement. Hopefully on Wednesday the last of the mushroom framework will be installed. I go over tomorrow to help him build those frames.

Be well

Good Morning All,

At least I'm in the right place this morning.

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, pastry, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at a feel like temp of 48F. The breeze felt colder than that. Yesterday I built some detail parts, a pipe rack, 2 wheel barrows, and something else that I can't remember. :o

Today after chores I will continue with the details. Nothing much else planned. Being retired is awesome!

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

51 now, sunny and 77 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and it sure is good to be able to be retired.

TomO, hope the finger isn't hurting and the grandson played well.

Jerry, what was the final accumulation?

Ron, great news that your wife is feeling better and the boxcars are coming together nicely.

Karl, I can't imagine getting one of those Z scale cars on the rails let alone doing any modeling in that scale.

ACLTom, you're doing a good job of conquering that kit.

What's the rest of the crew doing.

Hitting the road again today.
Driving north to Henderson,. NV for a Costco run and a couple of hikes.
I'll be back in AZ at the end of the week.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have fun doing the details. Before I retired one of the Store Managers that I had worked for over the years heard I was about to retire and told me "I highly recommend it"; he wasn't wrong. Sure beats working!!

Rick safe travels; Hope you find everything you need at Costcos.

What's on your plate for the day.

It's a whopping 16 with a high of 26; yup it's sn*wing yet again. A few errands to run this am then maybe some bench time later on. On a brighter note mid-week They say it's going up into the 40's...yippee. A chance to get the roofs cleared before we get another round of white crap.

Have a great day!! Be well, safe travels, and keep warm.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Wishing you another great retired day.

Rick, safe travels.

Larry, we got some of your weather and you can have it back anytime!

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a balmy 18°F this morning, but warming to 45°F later today. Nothing on the agenda but helping MOH put up a few more Christmas decorations.

Have fun,
mike
My current build is the Oil Derrick and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Cold and grey. Headed to OPS in a short  time.

LIONS were watchable but overwealmed in time by a stronger RAMS team.  Detroit is pretty well depleted.

Little to add.  A friend, college room mate 2 yrs, at one time 40-50 plus years ago bought property in Lake Havasu City, even before the bridge.  It was quite a deal, highly promoted.  Not sure that anything became of it.  He's been gone several years and was still in MI when he left us.

Later all.

Good morning Curt, Rick, Larry, Mike, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.

Rick, safe travels and hopefully Costco doesn't cost too much $$$

Larry, hope you make it to the bench after the errands.

Mike, have fun with the decorations.

Karl, I guess there is always next year for the Lions.

Current weather here is -17c (1f) and cloudy.  It is supposed to warm up starting tomorrow with rain in the forecast on Wednesday.  Managed to complete the car ends yesterday and I posted an update on my build thread.  Not sure what tonight will bring.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Monday morning from Wisconsin where the warming has started. 9f degrees now but feels like -9 wind chill. Later today the high will be in the low +20's and wind chills above zero for the 1st time since Thursday.

The #9 ranked Badger VB beat #2 overall nationally ranked Texas at their home in Austin in a relatively easy 4 set match. Terry is deciding if we head to KC for the final 4 semifinal games Thursday. We have access to tickets. We would not stay for the Sunday championship.

The grandson's team lost in the Championship game Sunday afternoon. Overall the team played well all weekend but 2 players got hurt Sunday morning and could not play the final game. That caught up to the team and they were visibly tired on streaming TV in the 3rd period. Gave up 5 goals in the 3rd alone to lose 5-6. 6 games in my book is still too much in 3 days for 12 year olds. They've played 44 games since the 2nd weekend in October. They are 33-9-2.

I have a work session this morning at the layout I built the swing bridge for and am building the paper mill (on hold) and the power plant. He and I will assemble the final 9 frames for the mushroom Peninsula to connect all 3 levels! No helix! We'll get the frames built so Wednesday's session crews will fly along to completion with ALL the frame work. Wiring will also go in on Wednesday. He then can complete the missing 300' of track to join with the 900'+ of mainline already laid down and operating. Big milestone for him this week.

Enjoy your day
TomO

Philip
