Amazing build and details. When I grow up I want to be a modeler like you sir.

Happy to hear the surgery is paying dividends with less pain.

Thank you. I have high standards.
Rick, yes scratch built.
Being a furniture maker and building Windsor chairs I figured I needed at least one.

ACL I'm here to inspire and help.
Let me know.

Well I been sandbagging on this one...
I built this about 10 years ago.
I didn't make the wheels, bevel gears and the boiler plaque. The boiler plaque was rendered by a friend in Germany (Volker) and printed in bronze.
I rendered and had printed a few details.
I still can not believe I built this.
I was over the moon when it rolled out of the shop!
It will eventually (with any luck) get a Bluenomi decoder.
If there is interest I have construction pictures.

Rick

I was fortunate to see it in person.
Seeing it run and observing all the moving parts was amazing.
Marty, you are a top notch craftsman.

Cool Shay.  Must have been an exacting build to get it to work.  Kudos!

Thanks!
Always nice when someone can see it in person MJinTN

Jerry

I think you should show some of the construction photos so we can see how much work goes into building one of these!

Here you go Jerry, the trucks.
The picture are from a book I had made while I had the images handy. Luckily I did since they're gone now.
The drawings you see are actual blue prints from
Lima locomotive.
