Rick

Good morning everyone.

Currently 26 in Abington, VA, 34 and cloudy later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Hope the van cleanup isn't too bad.

Karl and Curt: Red dye heating oil is essentially diesel fuel dyed red to signify it's untaxed for road use, designated for off-road purposes like home heating, agriculture, or generators, and illegal for highway vehicles due to tax evasion penalties. This red-dyed fuel is chemically similar to on-road diesel but cheaper because it lacks road taxes, with the dye acting as a visual marker for enforcement.

Karl, that diesel is beautiful.

Dave, glad your heat is back on.

Jerry, how was dinner?

ACLTom, get well soon.

Larry, how'd the couch repair go?

How's the rest of the crew today?

Nothing exciting to report on yesterday's activities.
I did see an area that had been dusted with s@#$ and saw some flurries later.
Heading to Costco in Knoxville today and possibly a gym visit too.

Still haven't taken any new pictures so here's another oldie.
Sorry, having technical difficulty's and there won't be a photo today.  :'(

Have a great day everyone.

Rick

Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Temps are going to 30 in Florida? dang keep warm. Hope the equipment unloading doesn't require too much time.

Rick stay warm in the Van and hope Costcos doesn't eat up too much $$$$. Nice photo, looks nice and warm there. The couch repair is coming along. After making a trip to Home Deport for 1 8ft. 2x4 and some shims we managed to get the the old springs removed and the couch inside framed out. I did take a bunch of left over lumber from home so that helped. The strapping is suppose to arrive today from Amazon so maybe next Saturday we can finish the couch.

What's the rest of you up to.

It's a cloudy 25 with only a high of 27 here. Going to cut a piece of 1/2" x 4" x 9" green foam for the base of the Challenge diorama and get the building glued down so I can start doing the detail work.I have 2 items coming from SW Tuesday so in the meantime I can start painting/coloring some of the details I have on hand.

Have a great day!! Be well, keep warm, and travel safely.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast. I'll just have some OJ today.

Last night was the first in two+ weeks where we didn't cough. I believe we are both on the mend.

I'm gong to sit at the bench today and get something, anything done.

Karl, nice paint job on the diesel.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Rick, thanks for the explanation on fuel oil coloring.

Tom, glad to hear you're finally over the hump.

More fiddling on the farm bridge and its scenery/approaches today.  Plus I should shovel the driveway, we got about 4" of fluffy snow, with more 'wintry mix' due today.  The truck is parked outside, so wife can park her car in the working garage (door) bay.  Door repair guys due tomorrow first thing.

Great looking setup, Ron, looks interesting to operate.

Oh so cold here the next few days, shivering just thinking about it :-[ I have to go out later, it's trash can to the road day.

I cleaned the 3d machine and wash tank while the Doll and grand daughter went off to town yesterday.  I also set up a print to run and removed lettering from a New Haven heavyweight Pullman car to reletter SOUTHERN to run behind my Green Pacific steamer.  I tested the diesel, it runs on the test track.  Need to recall changes to make to get it to go the correct direction ::) .

Daughter, Son in Law and teen mind numb geek coming for a bit this afternoon.  Means fresh cookies ;)

Little to add, glad the ACL is recovering.

Enjoy the day.

Rick, safe travelling.  Wow, what a photo.  Thanks.

Larry, good luck with the couch. Looking forward to your diorama.

TomACL, sitting at the bench all day sounds like fun.

Terry, howdy.

Dave, good luck with the garage door repair.

Ron, the layout looks great.  Wishing you a fun time.

Karl, you've got a lot going on in the hobby world.  Sounds like fun to me.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's an overcast morning, snowed overnight, but it melted since the temperature was 33°F.  In addition to the sheriff's office, I started work on the main street retaining walls.  They will be a combination of stone and wood.

Have fun,

Good morning, all. Calm with thick overcast and 3" of snow on lawn and trees here in the lower Merrimack Valley. Once I close the computer, I need to make building footprint templates for the 3 houses I'm queuing up, install baseboards for them and start roughing in the scenery.

Good afternoon from Wisconsin. +10f degrees now feels like 0. Much nicer than it was @ 6am when it was -4 real but felt like -21.

Spent most of the daylight hours yesterday at a OPS session normally 50-60 minutes north of us. Yesterday's snow fall was all day and everywhere so 93 and 89 minutes on the drive to and coming back. I'm now a Wisconsinite and talk in travel minutes instead of miles.

The grandson's hockey team has on a slide recently. This afternoon's game will be #64 but #63 this morning was a good one. A team they lost 1-5 to yesterday they beat 13-1 this morning. I didn't see yesterday's games but the grandson called me to report in. He said he was tired. The last 17 games they are 7-8-2.  Sorry as I know I've said this before but a 80 game schedule for traveling 12/13 years olds is too much. Because last weekend was somewhat a disaster per the coaches Thursday night's practice was strictly skating drills which are always tiring! I watched this morning with one of the other granddads who also is the hockey association president. His granddaughter plays on my grandson's team. Said she never mentioned it just said it was a tough practice. Grandson told me he was just tired and that was last night. Never mentioned the practice. It seems one of the parents watching the practice was talking about it between games yesterday. He said quietly to me if I believed it and I said yeah I do because you know how I feel about these coaches. They are bad and are holding these players back from reaching their potential...

Fun to be a hockey parent and grandparents
