Very GREY and wet here this morning, still some rain.  It's in the 40s, but...it appears a cool off with snow is coming mid afternoon.  Heavy snow and stuff in the UP dashed another wild hair I had about going in that direction.  :-X  The storms last night were highly electric with sound and lights of an artillery barrage well past midnight.. areas N of us had as much as 2 1/2 inches of rain and 3" diameter hail.  :o  Lots of flooding is reported but, in Michigan, no twisters.

Trim went well, the girls spent a decent amount of attention to the beard I'd not touched since I let it start in October.  I have much of the plaster cloth work done on the layout segment I am working, maybe 12-15 feet? not sure.  Not sure whether to continue with SculptaMold or Hydra cal material.  Looking to replicate horizontal striation in a cut section.  I'll see what comes out...I also have a truck dump, coal, to engineer and cobble..

Rx in Capital City to fetch, no other excursions planned.

Mother Nature will need watching out for today.  Keep your eyes and ears open.  :o

Good morning Mike, Larry, Rick, Curt, Philip, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Mike, enjoy the community breakfast.

Larry, glad your internet is now working well.

Rick, those are some beautiful looking horses, nice video.  Enjoy your day.

Curt, Enjoy your day, once the floor is done.

Philip, sounds like a $$$ car repair is in your future.

Karl, sounds like you're making great progress on the trestle scene, glad the trim went well.

Current temperature is 1c (34f) with dark skies and freezing rain in the forecast, could be an interesting drive home.  No modeling last night as I needed to finish another project I started last night.  Not sure what tonight will bring as it could be a long drive home.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Mike, much appreciated.

Pam and the team bowled well yesterday. They took 7 out of 8 points. Pam was happy. It was hard to sit and watch.

Rick, Star wasn't horsing around with the horses. Nice little video.

We got both CC/debit cards replaced.

I've been up since the sun made an appearance. I've been working in the yard cleaning up the winter kill.

Karl, great beard, looks good to me.

Well, back to the yard work for me.

Have a safe, healthy and happy day everyone.

I'm now 10-7.

Good morning, all.  The Merrimack valley had a some sun earlier, but now overcast has settled in, with chances of rain this afternoon and overnight.  Town Election went OK yesterday, Town Meeting is this evening. This morning has been news and emails, maybe modeling will happen this afternoon.

Glasgow side of Edinburgh's Waverly Station in March 1997 (didn't see much sun in Scotland that trip). The then Carlton Highland Hotel (very, very Victorian) is above/behind the outbound DMU. When I first visited Edinburgh 10 years earlier it had been all diesel but the East Coast Main Line electrification was eventually completed.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Starting out here at 71F and heading to 89F later. Yesterday I attached the cook house walls to the back of the barn and contemplated the roof. I was going to go with shakes but it was too much brown, so I built a standing seam roof out of thin styrene and 2x3's. I sprayed it with red oxide and set it aside for the day.

Today Dad has a senior trip and will be gone all day. MOH is on the mend from a stomach bug she had yesterday, and I will be in the train room. ;D

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Windy and 60 now in Apache Junction, sunny and 87 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Hope the wife feels better today.

Keeping it brief today.
Going hiking and will start before sunrise to beat the heat that's coming.

Have a great day everyone.

Larry C

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have fun in the train room.

Rick have a enjoyable and safe hike.

What are the rest of you doing.

It's cloudy 34 with a high of 38. The majority of the white crap has melted and I was able to walk down into the back yard; still very wet. Syracuse University has fired the Head Coach since this is the 3rd straight season, since he's been there, they've been passed over for the "Big Dance" so it should be interesting to see where things go next season. This Sunday is the NCAA D1 selection show so should be interesting. No modeling yesterday but maybe today. Oh ya the internet is working great now it's been fixed.

Have an enjoyable day!!! Be well and stay safe.

Have a safe, healthy and happy day everyone.

Good morning,

Curt, thanks for opening.  Hope your wife feels better today.

Rick, wishing you a fantastic hike.

Larry, congrats on the improved Internet setup.

Tom, good luck with the spring cleaning of the yard.

How are the rest of the crew?

It's 51°F here, headed to 71°F.  It rained most of the night with another brace of thunderstorms sweeping through.  This morning I have a doctor's appointment, then I hope to return to the layout.

Have fun,
mike

Sunny bright and clear here in Michigan this morning, only 29o with forecast of extremely high winds tomorrow with some wintry schmutz mixed with a bunch of holy mackerel tomorrow, worse as you venture North.  The weather is certainly an "A" ticket ride this time of the year. :o brief mental images of the ride up to Northern Command have been dashed to a pulp.

I worked on the layout yesterday until dinner time.  Experimenting with some wall hangers' mud as a finish over the plaster cloth, it looks like it has some potential. More work in that direction likely today.  That windy mess looks like it will lead to my not attending the Division meeting Saturday.  OPS Monday will take more to interfere with.

I 3d printed a tunnel portal yesterday.  It was a material gobbler.

All I got, be well all.

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Have a good day in the train room.  Hope Kathy feels better.

Rick enjoy the hike.

Larry the bad thing about being a coach if you don't win you get the door!!

Tom skip the yard work and do something in the shed!

Mike good luck at the Dr's.

Karl glad your getting time to work on the plaster.

Philip don't eat to much you have a RR to run!!

Weather in South Jersey cloudy/51.  Showers later.
We had T-storms pass through all night.
Hopefully today I will get to bench.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Yesterday I drove to central VT to give a talk to one of my old professor's classes (Class was 'software engineering' and I talked about 'architecture' in that context.)  So that's why I was missing yesterday.

Here's a photo I took in Venice:
image.jpeg

I should be back at it today, working on either scenery for the farm or the boxcar kit.  Probably scenery...  On my trip yesterday, I paid particular attention to the vegetation at the top of road cut cliffs, and came back with some good mental notes on modeling that.  I also looked at farms on hillsides (Vermont is a good place to observe that...)
