'Forestation' continues along the edge of the backdrop:

That paintbrush on the left is gently holding the tree plumb while the glue sets.  The approach here is do the back line of trees, then add filler foilage clumps mixed in with smaller shrubs.  You can see that on the right side of the photo.  My thinking is there's a primary species of tree, represented by the lighter colored round trees on armatures.  I intermix that with the taller and skinny twigs from Woodland Scenics, and an occasional other species of tree from the WS armatures.

You can see how this fills out the scene, and de-emphasizes how steep that slope is.
