Directly to the right of Kratz Scissors Company is The A. C. Gilbert Company "Home of American Flyer Trains".
The Belverton Storage Bldg. can be seen directly behind The A. C. Gilbert Company.

John,
More wonderful structures!  The scissors factory has always been one of my favorites.  Thank you again for taking the time to post all these photos.

John...

When I saw the above photos of Georges layout, I had to pop off the two you see below.
Again, another idea from the great one.

My single track mainline goes into the tunnel behind the Luba building and continues hidden
inside a row of structures for about six feet. Thank you again George.

Some great structures here, John.

I have always liked the wooden storage company - all its negative and positive detail certainly catches the eye.  I'm also a big fan of the group of buildings that will be next.  The way George cleverly leads they eye around the scene with different levels and tunnels giving the illusion of the layout going on forever, has been a great influence to me.  It's a device I use on my own modelling frequently.

John E. - great use of some of Georges ideas - but with your own 'stamp' firmly in place.

Cheers, Mark.

I also like the next one in this series. And yes, I also copied it. Has been on my layout for several years.
Will follow up Johns next post with a photo of it.

Thanks for stopping by the thread - I'm glad you are enjoying it. The scissors factory definitely catches your eye as you absorb all that there is to see in the town of Franklin.

Thanks so much for adding the pictures of the structures on your layout that were inspired by the F&SM.  It really adds a lot to this thread.  Oh, and you inspired me to get going and add those last few structures in the Franklin upper row.

The last two major structures along the top row of Franklin, are first, The Salvation Army building and then Paddock Bar & Grill. I say major structures because it should be pointed out that there are background structures behind theses two structures.

Guess you could say I'm under the influence of George. This area on my layout screams out FSM.
George once told me the Salvation Army building uses a modified Stuffy's Brewery front wall. I
used that concept on mine.
My tunnel portal design comes from ideas George used on his tunnel going under the Franklin
Station.

Most of us are under the influence of George.  Looks great John! And again, thanks for contributing to the thread.

Now that we have completed the row of structures at the top of the hill in Franklin, I decided to move to the foreground of the layout and focus on the Rocky Point Harbor. There are many famous structures in this area. Here is a couple overview photographs of the area.
