Here are four early structures George is getting ready for the F&SM.

This is a very interesting photo of the early years of the F&SM. These two pictures were taken in July of 1986 and the note written in blue states,


The mainline on the 4' X 8' section (both sides) will be relaid with double track and industries will replace the yard structures.

I can only guess as to what the rest of the note says in part.

Layout will continue further and will feature many more structures, mountains, trees, Filmore Yard and a high trestle.

The next two were also taken in July of 1986.

I recently came across several F&SM pictures. They were all taken in November of 1987.  Bob Bourdreau took the photos. The story I have of the pictures is that my friend, Dick DeWitt (now deceased) purchased these off Ebay in 1988.

This was long before any forums and George Sellios stopped photo taking on the F&SM due to the fact he heard people were selling the photos of the F&SM.

These pictures came to me when Dick passed in 2009.

The pictures sure show a different look to the F&SM we see today. Here are the first two of about 30 I have from 1987.

Notes added 12/11/15 after a phone conversation with George Sellios.  This Bridge was built from an article that appeared in the September 1953 Model Railroader.  George used Central Valley parts for the bridge iron work and the weights and other details are from his own castings.


Who has the September 1953 MR and would be willing to scan and post the article?

The next structure on our tour is the Northfield River Boat House.  This structure was covered earlier but I decided to include it here again with some new pictures and to complete this area of the layout in one place in the thread.
