In front of the South Manchester Depot we have this white gas station - It doesn't seem to have a name so I will call it the Champion garage for the large sign on the front.  What great detail.

The little gas station is one of my favorite structures on the F&SM.  Thanks for the pics!

How many of the structures on George's layout have been built by himself? The amount of detail on his layout is so incredible , it would take me 5 lifetimes to achieve that.
I love photo's, don't we all.

....and that if you started those lifetimes at six years old!!!!

My understanding is that most of the structures on the layout were built by George.  Only a few modelers have had the honor of having one of their structures displayed on the F&SM.

I know it's hard to believe George has built all of this - I would love to watch him work.  He has got to be very fast.

In his book George talks about 5 small structures that he didn't build.  Perhaps its 6 or 7 now but the rest...  I did sit next to a chap at the 2015 expo who had built many vehicles for the F&SM (Scott Baroody).  I'm sure George has had help in other areas as well but there is no doubt that the amount he has accomplished is nothing short of staggering.  I can procrastinate for longer than it takes George to build an entire town!

Cheers, Mark.

Mark,

I have built some of the items on the layout.  I built one of the pile drivers that George has on the layout.  I also built many of the telegraph poles, and a bunch of Tichy freight cars.

Thanks for stopping by the thread and for the input.  George mentioned the pile driver - which one did you build and I will add a note to the post?
