Tom yea modeling can be very therapeutic and glad you're able to get your skills back.

Ron I did work outside for a few hours this am but came back in s short time ago; going to 90 and that's too dang hot for me so I'll hit the bench this afternoon.

Dave best of luck with the cataract surgery.

Good Morning;

A late check in for me hope everyone is having a good day. TomO I agree with you on when doctors bother to review your case. I had an issue years ago were the surgeon came in three weeks after my surgery bubbling how well things went saying he had never had a problem with that surgery until a few weeks before when a blood clot resulted in emergency surgery. When he flipped the page he stopped, looked up at me, back down and finally muttered sorry. Yep, I was that guy.

No matter the surgery worked and I am still here. Today I am printing up more of the Winter Challenge detail parts and will be shipping them out by end of week. It is hot in Florida so good excuse to work on the bench but I think I will hit the pool later too. Got all the chores done so my better half is happy with me.

I was on line looking for a photo of a weathered bridge and AI brought this up. It is in 1:28 scale but amazing.

Quote from: PRR Modeler on May 18, 2026, 12:50:32 PMTomO I find walking therapeutic.

I do walk! 2 miles 6 days a week on the machine that goes no where or if the weather is nice 3 miles on the local sidewalks. There are actually 3 routes I can vary but all outside are a minimum 3 miles. Even with the recent pain I've walked but at a slower pace then my 19 -21 minutes per mile. Definitely clears the mind

Good morning everyone.

Windy and 40 in Sioux Falls now, wind and clouds all day with a high of 55.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Tried to think of something different for breakfast today but came up with nothing.
So, it's a forage in the fridge and pantry kind of day and make what you like.  ;D

TomO, 3 mph is a very good walking pace.

Jim, that's a great looking bridge to study weathering from.

Larry, any bench news?

Jerry, hope that maybe you mentioned happened.

Dave, hope your procedure goes well today.

Ron, have fun with the AI and writing the code you need.

Karl, more goofing off yesterday?
I hope you had time to do and enjoy that.

Curt, the really bad weather was south and east of me.
All that happened here yesterday was a little rain late in the afternoon.

How's everyone else?

Interesting day yesterday with good possibilities.
More detail on that maybe tomorrow.
Maybe a gym visit today and nothing else planned yet.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast. I'll get the usual bowl of Raisin Bran. Glad the weather missed you.

Starting out in the 70's heading to 90F again. The same until late October maybe November. Yesterday I painted details for a couple of hours. It looks like I have 5 or 6 left to do then it's on to 3-D little people. Sigh.

Today Dad has his senior trip and have to drop off son's car. I don't know if I'll make it to the workbench today.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and I did find some goodies in your pantry. Started working a 2 logging bunks yesterday for inside the Shed; gotta have something to work on. Nice photo.

Curt nice loco photos. I guess the first one makes you wonder if you're coming or going; sorry couldn't resist. Hope the bench time goes well for you.

What's the rest of you doing.

It's 70 with a high of 88 and rain likely, so They say. It made it to 91 yesterday; way too early for those kinds of temps. We have two eye appointments this afternoon for exams but doubtful I'll be getting new glasses sine I can see just fine; that's how they make their money. Maybe some bench time this am and then again maybe not.

Have a great and safe day!! Be well.

Curt, those are my two favorite engines.

I hinted this morning about some exciting news and I got an answer this morning much earlier than I was expecting.
I mentioned last week about doing research here in Sioux Falls.
I was actually house hunting.
The first house I looked at was the one I liked best and after some negotiations with the seller we agreed on a price.
Closing is scheduled for June 10.
No, I am not selling the van.
No, I will not stop traveling.
The plan is to spend time traveling in the spring to fall and then hunker down at home in the winter.
That's the plan for now which could always change.
Why am I buying a house?
It's primarily due to my reoccurring kidney stones.
I need to get some doctors that can get to know me and keep an eye on my kidneys.
If it wasn't for that I would not be buying a house right now.

Jerry

Morning everyone

Rick thanks for opening.
I'll have a cup of that coffee.
That's great that your your buying a place to live in.
A great plan travel when it's nice and stay home when it's ugly out there.
Best of luck.

I have to keep this short as there going to turn the power off shortly for improvements.
Or some kind of BS!!
Naturally they picked a day that's going to be 93.

I'll be back much later.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning. It is 60 now heading to a high of 64 degrees. No more rain scheduled for the day. I have not been outside to look at the rain gauge so I'm not sure if the T-storms guessed to come through at 3am did or not.

Rick, congrats on the house. That might be a tough adjustment for you 2 wanderers!

Jerry, sounds like you'll need to head to the beach, best to you. 93 is too hot for me now a day!

Dave, best to you on the eyes. You are going to be real happy

Not sure how the day will go

Enjoy your day

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening and for the coffee.  I found some eggs, cheese, refried beans, tostados, and salsa verde, so it's huevos rancheros for me.  Congratulations on the house purchase.  At least there is no sneaux in SD...  Hope you get some kidney stone relief.

Curt, good luck with your activities. The day sounds busy.

Larry, good to get those eyes checked annually.  Can you reveal what SW kits you are going to build?

Jerry, that's horrible.  Hope you stay cool...beach time?

TomO, glad the storms missed you.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's sunny, headed to 88°F.  I have a few 1:1 chores outside, then it's back to the layout.  I've been doing surgery on the lower level after some terrific suggestions.  I need to do the final weathering on the boxcars and put them on the layout.

Have fun,
mike

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick. I like your plan on getting settled so that the doctors can get a handle on the re-occurring kidney stones. Sounds like a solid plan to me.

Yesterday, I finally finished all the yard work. I didn't re-sod the back yard around the pool area. I did plant about 36 St. Augustine Floratam plugs in the bare spots. Tomorrow my tree guy is coming to remove the 40' Fox Tail Palm. That is the palm that caused the pool pipes to crack thus causing the necessity of the pool repair.

Pam has bowling practice at noon. I'll stay home with Emee and continue to give her the eye drops - every four hours during the day.

I see a drive to Kershaw, SC in our future. My sister is 84 and showing signs of Dementia and other issues. She still lives alone and shouldn't be.

I'll try to get some bench time in today.

Have a safe, healthy and happy day everyone.

Tom
