What's your plans?

It's a sunny 62 with a high of 87. It's the 1st of August already; anyone see where July went? May start on coloring LP #1 for the front porch; it's already been primed. Other than that not a whole lot going on here.

Good morning from the wetland called Wisconsin. It finally started raining just after 9am yesterday and hasn't really stopped since and 90%+ chances of rain every hour till 8pm tonight when the chance drops to 58%. I'm just happy we got some. There had been reports on the evening news yesterday some of Wisconsin got severe storms but not in my area. I have not yet been to the rain gauge outside.

The government moves in slow motion when you don't have a state senator in your hip pocket. After 18 months of jumping through hoops the SIL and daughter were given approval to use the cattle tunnel under the County Road in front of their house connecting pastures on the property that straddle this County Highway. The crew who finished the long driveway added gravel and asphalt to the tunnel path under the road on Wednesday and finished it Thursday. Makes for easier access for the family to the SIL's vineyard and it extends the walking path and allows the horses to use the fields on the other side of the road.

Friday in Wisconsin traditionally is Fish Fry Friday. We went out to an enjoyable local place we hit up 2-3 times a year. I had fried chicken last night and Terry had shore fried Perch. It was excellent. I can't get Fried Chicken at home and I dislike the chain fried chicken but this place does a good one. So I ordered it

I'll be baking bread this afternoon. I used to make bread prior to Covid 2-3 times a week after we moved here and once a week for years prior to retirement. I'm producing 36 bread bowl sized loaves for a charity thing tomorrow the daughter is hosting. Something for Down Syndrome so the granddaughter is going to "help" me and an old neighbor make the loaves. I'll miss my ovens from 2 houses ago but I have made 2 loaves practicing this past week. I still got it and this is a good oven in the new kitchen.

The bear spray is coming from the Amazon store. Will we need it? I hopefully doubt we will but we do like to walk or ATV our property. It's also doubtful but it's a just in case thing though the 44 magnum was a good suggestion. We used to get many trespassers for duck, geese and deer. Both the son in law and me would be armed or carry a rifle in the ATV. The County sheriff asked us to stop carrying when we were blocking in the poachers vehicles when on the property, so we did. We only carry on the property now to the practice range. Boy, I don't miss those times in my life.

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Great photo. I bet it would also be a great B&W photo.

Started out the day with a walk at 79F and humid. It was painful after not doing the walk for a week. I've already completed the pool maintenance I wanted to do today, so after household chores I will be at the workbench.

Today the Dish repair guy is coming to see why the sat system isn't receiving signal. That's supposed to be between 8:45-10:45.

Nothing much else happening today.

Rick, it is now officially silly season for F1 seeing as it's the summer break, it's the time where we hear rumours about driver changes for next season.  That being said, we all know that Max has been unhappy at Redbull, Russell isn't doing as well at Mercedes compared to Kimi and there have been rumours that Mercedes has wanted Max for the last couple of years.  Let the speculation begin. 

Larry, have fun painting the LP.

TomO, sounds like you have had an interesting life, have fun making the bread with your granddaughter.

Curt, sounds like life is back to normal, hope the dish isn't a big issue.

Jim, you have a beautiful family there.

Current weather is 21c (70f) and mostly cloudy, high is 28c (82f) with a 30% chance of showers.  Spent more time at the bench yesterday working on the turntable.  I posted 2 updates yesterday and have another to post this morning.  Hopefully I'll get more work done on it today.

Curt, we had the same problem a month ago (right in the middle of the World Cup.)  Turns out the cable from the dish to the house had gone bad.  They should check that first.  The repair guy replaced the outside part of the cable (the inside part is -now- running through the finished basement.)

It's another hazy morning, but cooler today at 86F. Yesterday I finished painting the hand car, today will likely be to start assembling it.

Rain is forecasted but a no-show so far.  We need it but not during the art show the daughter is at.  It feels nice not to have the Doll's refrigerator running at full blast.  I'm in flannel shirt and she's "melting"  I should go see a doctor if I'm so cold. 

Bench time today?  I hope.

We opted out of a fish fry last evening.  Had lots of really good fish up north.  We do have a favorite fried chicken place if we want a mid afternoon road trip.  I'd take the 44 over a can of spray.  Not sure a 44 would be best, a bit of recoil making the second and third and forth shots slow in getting on target.

The hinges are so so. Got my doors from Tichy. Trimming windows in scale and doin the 1:1 yard again, oh lucky me.

Somewhere in the last 5-7 years I went from being hot to now it's always seems to be cold in the house. Terry has flipped from cold to hot in the last 3-4 years.

In the last place we compromised that the air would be set at 76. Now I have 5 fleece slip overs that I put on when I'm chilled. In the new place we r in it has 8" insulated side walls with an air gap. The AC is set at 78 and she has been ok as have I. When I head to the bench in the daughters shop I wear a fairly heavy hoodie. Her AC is set at 74!

The National Train Show in Chattanooga was great. People ere spending lots of money. They had the largest modular layout I've ever seen, T-Trak.

I found a few bargains.
