I've seen soft tops on Broncos, Rogues, and I think Jeep Gladiators.  I just don't get it.  (But then, I always disliked riding in a Real Jeep (M151A2) at speed, the noise bothers my ears.

I'm back from the 1 week follow-up on Eye #2. All Clear (pun intended!)

My Jeep Gladiator has removable hard roof as well as all 4 doors are capable of removal.

I have no interest in doing anything like that. I can't enjoy a nice drive with the windows down without "messing up hair"  :o "sits too high" says 5' frequent passenger. Gave her a milk crate on a rope.

I've seen folks running their Jeeps stripped down and it looks scary to me especially on the roadway. Off road I'd like a 4 point harness.

"Jeeps stripped down" are like people riding motorcycles without helmets.  NH has no mandatory motorcycle helmet law, and I figure that's a nod to Darwin.

Several of my HS friends were fairly serious gearheads, so I've seen engines apart and helped with the heavy lifting. But the most involved car repair I've ever done myself was replacing the hybrid battery pack in my 2000 Honda Insight. Over my 44 years of car ownership, I've bought 5 new cars and 4  used cars.  Current Prius V was bought used because the model was out of production but was the most efficient model that could carry my HUB DIvision modules. Chevy Bolt is also used, dipping my toe into the EV environment.  I've driven it 105K miles in 5.5 years..

Good morning everyone.

It's 60 now and it's raining, but will clear up later with a high of 75.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Blueberry pancakes with freshly churned butter and real maple syrup with sides of bacon and/or sausage patties for breakfast today.

I've had some nice cars through the years.
Didn't do any wrenching other than change the oil.
I had a Datsun 280Z, Mazda RX7, 5.0 Mustang, Lexus GS 300 and a V10 Ram pick-up.
There were other less exciting cars sprinkled in-between.

TomO, I can see how'd you'd get pulled over often driving a Urus.

Philip, shame the veggies don't grow as fast as the weeds.
Hope the cat is doing better.

Jerry, hope you got another hour in yesterday.

Karl, registration here is about $50 and annual state parks pass is $40.

How's everyone else doing.

Got to the DMV around 7 but can't register for a walk-in visit till 7:30.
At 7:30 I started the online process but couldn't get through for a few minutes.
When I finally got through they were booked up for the day. :'(
Spoke to an employee and she told me if all I was doing was changing my address I could use the kiosk in the lobby.
I did that and after some trial and error, success.
Now I have to wait 6 weeks for my new license to show up.
Went home, picked up Star and did a 5 mile hike at Newton Hills SP.
In the afternoon I continued cleaning the inside of the van and taking out things I won't need.
Gym this morning and just a little more cleaning in the van to do.

Yesterday at Newton Hills SP.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick. Happy you and Star had a good hike and that the DMV finally went right.

Well, my PSA for the past 6 years has been 0.15 and this last time it jumped to 0.20. Dr. ordered a PET/CT scan to see what is going on. Most of yesterday was spent doing the scan. Results in a few weeks and I'll let the news break here.

Today/this morning I'm removing old mulch and adding new mulch in the rose garden. Hopefully some modeling later this afternoon.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. It's nice you can have only what you need now for the van and glad DMV worked out for you.

Tom hope the scans reveal what ails you and it's nothing serious. Good luck with the mulch replacement.

What's on your agenda?

It's a cloudy 63 with a high of 75 and maybe some rain later. Worked on adding railings to the stairs on the Mercantile yesterday and hope to finish some time today; very tedious work. Going to the hardware store shortly to buy 2 finials for the front porch so that's this mornings project.

Have a great and safe day!! Be well.

Good wet Wisconsin morning. The nice steady rain currently falling is very welcome but not the predicted severe stuff radar confirms is rolling in. We might reach 70f degrees today

I've never been in a Wisconsin DMV longer than 30 minutes and now most everything is online. No idea what plates or registration cost

My 1st car at 16 was a 1968 Opel Kadet. My first car loan was in 1974 after college graduation for a 1974 Malibu Classic with white leather seats. My car payment was $60 a month for 36 months and dad thought I was nuts

After reading Bob Butts 2016 build of the FOS Scale Red Light District kit I have some good ideas. What a great job he did on it! I did create a separate build area in the shop for it. I did not buy the project boxes I need yet though I had a plan to!

The movie Pressure yesterday was very good. Brendan Fraiser played General Eisenhower and was excellent. I checked Ai after we got home yesterday because I was unsure how accurate historically it was. According to Gemini very accurate. While I was a History major in college my emphasis was the Pacific Theater not Europe.

After I pick up the grandson after his golf at noon we will drive over to the LHS as his 2 new slot cars are in. I predict we will then spend a couple hours tuning them. Actually more him than me tuning. He's picking that up pretty well. Unfortunately he has no interest in my trains

Enjoy the day

STORMS later, again.

Missed key stroke ate the rest of my 'homework'  ::)  :-\

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast . Glad the DMV fiasco is over this time. It sounds like you have a bunch of hiking areas around you.

Had a second Good night's sleep in a row but the critters woke me up with their scratching to let me know they were dying of starvation. ::) I meant to post earlier but got sidetracked by chores. The floors are done. Yesterday I glued the second layer on the four walls and put them under weight overnight.

Today I'll start on the wall planking. MOH comes back today which happens to be our 48th wedding anniversary. We are saving for a 50th trip to the Galopagoes something that is on Kathy's bucket list, but it's definitely not cheap.$$$$$

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning

Glad your squared away Rick. Indy is better.

I hope the test is negative Tom.

Some ugly weather expected today.

More hunkering down in the shop maybe!

Happy Anniversary Curt! ... I didn't know you were married!

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, glad the DMV fiasco is over.

Tom, hope the tests come back with nothing serious.

Curt, Happy anniversary.

Mike, to answer your question, I mainly model in On30 with a minor in N scale.  I spent most of my modeling life in N scale before I switched to On30 about 18 years ago.

Current weather is 20c (68f) and mostly sunny but there is rain in the forecast later today.  No modeling last night as I just didn't feel like it.  We shall see what tonight brings.

Have a great day everyone.

Tom, sounds like you and your Dr are paying attention.  It's not the actual value, but the rapid -change in value- that is significant.  (In my case, my last test was something like .23, but that's a small increase over last year.  The urologist said, "Yeah, slow growth is typical of non-cancer."  And then he increased my Flowmax prescription.  ;D )

Nice day today, in fact this looks like it might be one of the best weeks of the year.  We're still way short of rain, though.

Today, I might get a bit of work on the layout, installing more lighting strips over the farm scene in that really dark corner of the layout.
