Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, have fun at the bench.

Philip, hope the rain stops soon.

Rick, Glad you and Star had a great hike yesterday.

Karl, glad you had a great time at the OPS yesterday, goof luck packing for your trip to Northern Command.

TomO, sounds like a successful shakedown cruise when all is said and done.

Jerry, your walls are now officially 25% done.  ;D

Curt, sounds like you are feeling better.

Current temperature is 26c (79f) without a cloud in the sky.  Nothing got done at the bench yesterday as I spent most of the day outside yesterday and come supper time we too tired to do anything.  Gracie and I did manage a 3.4km (2.1m) walk along the river yesterday and I spent time trimming bushes and cleaning up the back yard.  Today's plan is to go for a walk with Gracie before it gets any hotter, do a grocery run and watch the F1 race.

Have a great day everyone.

Curt, hope your appetite returns!  Wife is on a soft diet for a day or two.  Fortunately, she likes yoghurt and eggs, so it's eggs in the morning, yoghurt for lunch, and then I try to do something tasty for dinner.  Last night it was chicken cutlets (chicken schnitzel) and stewed green beans.  Not sure what I'll do tonight.

In the meantime, I'll head down to the train room and do some work on the electrical power supply.  I'll post a photo of how I mounted that to keep it protected from dust but still be able to vent the heat.

Howdy folks,

Larry, thanks for opening and breakfast.

Hope folks dodge the heat this week.  I see flooding in Kentucky on the news.

No plans for the day, I've been super tired lately.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Good morning everyone.

It's 45 right now here in the mountains, sunny and 72 later.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Eggs the way you like them, crispy bacon and /or sausage patties along with home fries for breakfast today.

Mike, hope you got some good rest yesterday.

Dave, more layout time today?

Ron, looks like Red Bull has made some progress with their cars.

Curt, hope you're feeling much better and all goes well with the VA visit.

Jerry, have you started the second wall?
It took a while but I was finally able to get a good enough cell signal to watch the race highlights.

TomO, sounds like the ops went pretty well in spite of the drama.

Karl, safe travels.

Philip, hope the floods won't affect you.

Larry, I need to go to your thread and check out your update.

ACLTom, I hope you're feeling much better.

How's everyone else?

Took it easy yesterday.
I want to do a hike at the Brainard Recreational Park today.
But you need to make a reservation to get in and wasn't able to get good enough cell service to do that on recreation.gov.
I'll try again this morning.
If I can't do it on line I'll drive over there and see if I can do it in person.

This is from the 5.5 mile with 1,811' of climbing hike Star and I did on Saturday on the Mesa to Fern Canyon Trail.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Pretty picture.

I feel like I'm done with the flu except the bathroom issues. Imodium slows things down. I canceled the blood draw and appointment as I was afraid of an accident in the vehicle. :-*

We're down to 3 available kits so call quickly so you don't get left out! After chores I'll try to make it to the workbench, it's been crying my name.

We have to rehome a 2 yo male who has become very aggressive towards the other males we have.

Tom I hope you're feeling better.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Curt, good luck with the young male.  That's a problem with all critters, even dogs (and teenagers.)  Glad you're feeling better.

Rick, I've been passing some of your photos to my wife, with the hope one might inspire her to paint again.

Back to the train room this afternoon.  I'll probably hide out there all week, with the heat moving in.

Morning all,

Rick, thanks for breakfast.

My surgery site still stings but it gets better each day.

I had lunch with Bill on Saturday and he wants to come down and run trains. I told him no, he isn't ready. He wanted to park at the end of the driveway, in the street, get in the wheelchair and have me push him up to the gate. Then he will transfer to the walker, step up to the pool deck and walk 25-30 yards around the pool deck to the train shed.

Then transfer from the walker to a chair with rollers (the chair he always sits in to run trains) and then use his legs to push himself backwards to his spot to run trains. That distance is approx. 40 feet. The way he is walking now, that would be a major issue and task.

I need to cut the grass, it has now been 12 days and I may need a hunting permit.

That's it for me.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good morning from a warming Wisconsin. 77f degrees now 95 later and then our 1st official heat index over 100! Very humid at 79% but the 15 mph wind is making it nice enough for now on the back deck.

The Saturday Ops Sessions were a success because 26 of the 28 operators over the 2 sessions were understanding guys. They were informed when requesting this layout that it was going to be in its infancy. It should not though have been the 1st 2 real shakedown cruises.

The after session report I started on last night after a work session text last night saying he was ready for our reports. He did though walk the layout looking at the pink issue tickets at each issue spot. He wasn't going to even look at the layout until Wednesday but we all knew he wouldn't be able to keep that promise. He will fix the minor ones first. Dinner at his expense on 7/25 when we are all back from traveling.

Our temporarily new digs were started on this morning. The space over the daughter's stable side of her office/craft shop needs the kitchen and bathrooms installed then everything painted. Flooring to be decided this afternoon between Terry and the daughter as I bowed out. It all will be finished before we are back around the 7/22.

One of the Ops session visitors was from LA and knows one of my best weathering clients. That was a feel good conversation for me.

Today's picture Rick is even more outstanding than normal

I am packed for Pasadena, San Diego and beyond except for the meds!

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone

Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Beautiful scene.
It was a good race.

Curt glad your feeling somewhat better.

Morning Dave.

Tom glad your feeling better.
Sounds like you made a good decision with Bill.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/78.  Laer on 84.
Nothing from the bench to report.
Hopefully I can start the second wall today.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Jerry

Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Hope you get to do the hike you want and thanks for another beautiful photo.

Curt glad you're feeling better and don't blame you for cancelling your apt; that would not be good if it hits you all of a sudden. Hope you make it to the bench and good luck with the difficult critter.

Dave the train room isn't a bad place to be when it's hot out.

Tom glad you're feeling some better and hope you heal soon. Sounds like Bill's mind wants to do one thing and probably his body won't cooperate; good call on your part.

Tom have fun on your trip and safe travels to you and Terry.

Jerry hope you make it to the bench today and keep cool.

It's a sunny 70 with a high of 86. Summer's a coming with high humidity, 90's , and T storms the next couple of days; hopefully we don't loose power. Ran a few errands this am so maybe some bench time. My SW order should arrive either today but most likely tomorrow.

Have a great day!! Be well, stay safe, and keep cool.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, With Red Bull and Ferreri, it's turning into less of a one trick pony.  Fantastic picture by the way.

Curt, glad you are feeling better, hope you can find a nice home for the 2 year old.

Dave, have fun in the basement.

Tom, glad you're feeling better and the pain is easing up.  Knowing the lay of the land I think you made the right decision with Bill.

TomO, sounds like you have a grand adventure ahead of you.

Jerry, you need to start on the second wall today, you don't want to lose momentum. 😊

Larry, hope your SW order arrives today instead od tomorrow.

Current temperature is 24c (75f) with a high of 31c (88f) with the sun shining today.  Supposed to be hot all week here.  Short work week as I'm only working 2 days this week.

After going on another long walk with Gracie, doing the grocery run and watching the F1 race, I did manage some bench time.  I lettered one side of the 4 boxcars, disassembled the trick and painted the frame and wheels and reassembled the trucks.  Not sure what tonight will bring.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning,

Rick, thanks for opening and breakfast.  Beautiful photo of a terrific hike.

Curt, hope you feel better soon.  Good luck with the rehome.

Dave, enjoy the train room and stay cool.

TomACL, good luck with the stinging and hay baler.

TomO, safe travels.

Jerry, good luck with the wall; the first one was first class.

Larry, hope the SW order arrives for some more fun.

Ron, sounds like a productive day.

Philip, stay cool up there.

How is the rest of the gang?

It's gonna be a hot one here.  I spent the early morning spraying for Japanese beetles.  They destroyed all my rose bushes in one day. What a curse they are.

We are headed to our Daughter's lake place for a few days of resting from doing nothing.  We will eat well and enjoy visiting her.  She is working from there this week.  My SIL is the fire marshal for the NP service and is working on the fireworks display at Mount Rushmore, so we won't see him until next week.

Have fun,
mike
