Good Morning All,

Happy Independence Day to all the ungrateful colonists out there.

Rick thanks for opening and breakfast. Another great video.

Started out with a short walk (2 miles) at 77F and moderate humidity. MOH is taking an adult animal to a local access station about an hour from here for a show and tell on TV. Someone else will be presenting as MOH refused to be it. ;)

Yesterday was productive. I got the initial 4 walls planked. After chores I'll do an update before working on the kit. Grandson has another job interview tomorrow afternoon. By default I've become his chauffeur for important things.

Rick I'm doing OK, although I'm still dealing with some fatigue issues but I'm trying to motor through them.

Philip that's probably FL man with the fireworks.

Well that's all for me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

We have calming treats for the dogs, they help with fireworks.  I don't mind municipal displays, they're scheduled and over relatively quickly.  It's the (drunken) clowns who set off stuff well into the night that really piss me off.

Plan for today is more shrubberies, and then Scotch Club in the late afternoon.  Last night I cooked some steaks outside, first steaks we've had in quite a while, so that was a welcome change (that didn't heat up the kitchen.)

Good Morning,

Happy 250th America!!!!

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have a fun and safe hike.

James homemade Kraut must be both tasty and potent. Hope the fireworks don't scare your animals too much.

Curt nice to hear you're feeling some better and looking forward to your update.

Dave have fun at the bench with the planting. Great you have some meds to keep the animals from being scared. Enjoy Scotch Club and what's a steak?

What's on your agenda?

It's a cloudy 75 with a high of 81 and rain. The heat wave is starting to fall apart; thankfully. Maybe some bench time today as not much else is planned.

In honor of Independence Day here's a little family history:

My 5th Great Grandfather, John Cypher, fought in the American Revolutionary War in 1776 for the Tryon County Militia under Campbell's First Regiment; he was 39. In 1782 he was captured by the Torres (colonists sympathetic to England) where he remained in prison until the end of the War. At that time he was released and made his way back home to Stone Arabia, Herkimer County, New York where he would continue working his farm until his death in 1810.

Thought the history might be of interest and I have photo copies of the documentation for John Cypher in our family tree.

Have a great and safe 4th. Be well and keep cool.

Neat video Rick, thanks.

We visited the Loop in 2007 on a return to the Denver airport from our vacation. Unfortunately, the trains weren't running, but we got to see the outdoor displays and the town. Below is a photo of one of the engines they had on display back then.

Good morning everyone and

Happy 4th of July to my American friends.

Current weather is 23c (73f) and partly cloudy.

Well yesterday didn't turn out as expected, spent the day at the emergency animal hospital with Gracie.  When she got up yesterday she did her normal things except eat so I didn't think too much about it.  A couple of hours later she could hardly stand.  So I took her to the hospital where we spent the day doing tests and observation.  The tests confirm that she has a gallbladder issue that requires surgery.  Surgery is scheduled for this evening.  We brought her home last night around 8:30pm loaded with painkillers and antibiotics.  We need to drop her off at the hospital today at 3pm for pre-op prep.  She will spend the night at the hospital.  If all goes well she will be home tomorrow afternoon.

Needless to say no modeling happened yesterday, we shall see what happens today.

Have a great day everyone.

Late morning all,

Happy Independence Day to all.

Rick, thanks for the food and video. I'm feeling better but the head surgery site still hurts. I think a nerve got pinched when the area was closed. I'm definitely talking to the Dr. about that. The sutures come out  Monday morning. It's been a very long two weeks.

Ron, hope all goes well with the surgery and that Gracie recovers quickly.

Half of our cookout guests won't be attending. Our daughter and husband came down with Covid. He had knee surgery and probably got it while in the hospital. He was kind enough to pass it on to Sharon. Well, more burgers for me I guess.

Time for a little more modeling prior to the pool lizards arriving.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good morning from the west coast. This Midwest boy has a tough time adjusting when on Pacific coast time but it seems to be easier this time.

Thanks Rick on the condo purchase. I'd say I was blindsided by the thought of buying out here but my sister is here. The son and the daughter with her family love it out here and between the 2 kids and us we visit enough times to make it worthwhile. As I had written on the old forum Maui is absolutely stunning but I am bored out there and was so happy when Terry sold her place out there. My brother is still there so we still go but Terry no longer has to count the days out there for tax purposes. The discussion about buying to have a place near my sister and niece for us, the family and a few friends started when we were out here for the 4th time in 2025 after Xmas. But, I never thought of it as real serious. The place was going to be put up for sale next week and was owned by one of my sister's Crew of 8 widows. My sister informed Terry a few weeks ago that Marcie wanted to sell. I though was not told till we got on the plane on Tuesday in Denver. With the place in Wisconsin sold this gives us another place to visit while the new place at home is built. My sister moved here in 2018 so we are very familiar with the local neighborhood and the adjustment shouldn't be too tough. Plus there is plenty to do here, I won't be bored

Happy 4th to all

Bright and calm on the lake this morning, glistening in the sun like a tray of diamonds. Mosquitos are active already.

I mowed early yesterday

We stopped at an antique shop yesterday. The had a vending machine that had ammo if you're preparing for a shootout or need to pop a pest or two. IMG_3773.jpeg

Later we had fresh perch at a quaint little place out among the windmill fields

IMG_3775.jpeg

Lots of damage around home from a severe storm yesterday afternoon. Hellacious if the heat is still like it's been. I believe our place is ok.

Happy Fourth of July, folks,

Rick, thanks for the light breakfast and video link.

I added a couple of photos of the Model T build.  I'll try to get upstairs this afternoon to continue work.

Have fun,

Good Morning,

The morning beverages are set to go so help yourselves. Breakfast cheesy scrambled eggs, hash browns, English muffins along with crispy bacon and/or pan sausages.

Terry nice kit haul; have fun and enjoy.

What's on your "I wanna do list"?

It's a p sunny 68 with a high of 80 and the humidity finally broke; thankfully. Not sure what's on tap for the day so we'll see as the day progresses. That's about it for around here.

Have an enjoyable day!! Be well and stay safe.
