Quote from: jbvb on May 30, 2026, 12:06:05 PMGood afternoon (barely, at least in Eastern Time)!

Curt, is your multi-level junction photo somewhere in Lehigh Gorge?

Rick, eating eggs is a bad habit that develops most often when chickens don't have access to proper nourishment. Sometimes the flock actually disciplines them (often fatally), most chicken owners stew them when caught.

TomO, playing subject to biased referees as often as you've reported sounds a little like abuse to me. I'd have changed sports, or switched to something much less competitive. My stepson dropped HS track & field because the culture was too much running is life.

Layout time after lunch...

I'd have pulled my kid out of soccer years ago due to sometimes scary refereeing but over all most do a good job. There is however a very vivid geographical ideology between suburban soccer and the "elite" teams of the state capital. The elite teams are literally called that and seem to have a category of referees that decide very often on the favor of the organization that pays them. My grandson is very good but not elite though he's been recruited to play for the various elite teams of the city. They have no problem recruiting kids no matter where they reside! His dad and fraternal granddad (a state hall of fame youth and high school soccer coach) have been aware of this for decades and feel it just makes teams tougher!

Good morning. Headed into town to the local hardware store and never made it. Terry warned me about going to the local hardware because of the hometown Days parade. They couldn't block off the whole business district so I thought. But they could and did! I'll try later as I'm not going to HomeDeport on a weekend

Grandson's soccer team played #1 in soccer last night and got beat 0-2 but it really was never close.

Granddaughter is here as she didn't want to see the parade. Don't blame her as I have hated those things since I was a kid. My sister was a Batam twirler and every frickin parade for years her group was in and we went and saw the parade. I also hate loud fire trucks in parades

Staying out of Terry's way as she is filling her hanging baskets with veggies

While not as gorgeous as the past week it's nice out. Not sure what else will happen today but will stay alert

Rick

Good morning everyone.

61 right now, mix of sun and clouds with a high of 82 today.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Two eggs the way you like them, crispy bacon and/or sausage patty with home fries for breakfast today.

TomO, have you thought about starting a thread on your paper mill build?

Jerry, so how was the picnic?

Ron, congrats on your electronics and software success.

Philip, I like asparagus.

Jim, what movie did you see and how was it?

Dave, congratulations on the declutter.

Karl, hope you got home safely.

Larry, good luck with the SUV purchase.

Curt, have fun with the truck build.

ACLTom, you out there?

Star and I did a 7 mile walk on the bike trail yesterday.
Rain held off until we turned around and started back to the van.
It stopped before getting to the van and had mostly dried off by then.
Nothing else interesting the rest of the day until late in the afternoon when things got too interesting.
A strong storm moved in and the tornado warning sirens went off three times.
Didn't get any strong winds where I was at, just some thunder/lightning and heavy rain.
I just looked up if there were any tornados in the area and there was a confirmed one in Wall Lake which is 11 miles west of me.

This was taken at Dismal Swamp in VA.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Happy first day of June!

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Great photo with the tree in the lake. Meeting daughter in Syracuse late this afternoon. She's found a SUV she likes so if it drives good hopefully she buys it before her other one craps out. Glad to hear you were safe for tornadoes; nasty stuff.

What's on your agenda?

It's a sunny 50 with a high of 71. A few errands to run later this morning then dropping Ellie's car off for some minor work and a NYS inspection. When her car's finished then my Escape gets dropped off for the same; June's a rough car month. Maybe some bench time in between everything else.

Have an enjoyable and safe day!!! Be well.

Good morinng, Rick, Larry and Curt. Seacoast NH is 50-ish with gray skies. Forecast has the clouds blowing away later, but the high will only be about 60F. My cell phone's charging port gave me a lot of trouble but finally is taking a charge.  And the chickens' dishes got wet so I had to improvise.

I'm not going far from home till the plumbers arrive and have a good start on what needs to be done.  So likely some layout time before and after Planning Board this evening.

James

Philip

Morning gang.

I always figured you could walk on water!

Curt, It's happened to me countless times.

Oh those $Plumbers......

Have a great day!

Good morning crew,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.

Yesterday was consumed by 1:1 activities.  Today doesn't look much different.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning Folks;

Curt sorry about the lost post, I have done that more than I want to remember. The Forum operates on a relatively old program from Simple Machines and underlining code is called PHP. I know just enough to be dangerous so Rusty does all the heavy lifting. There is not a lot of work going on for forum type stuff, the modern world wants bigger, faster and more profitable stuff. In order to keep ads out and workload down we operate on this time tested programming. I doubt you want a suggestion, I know never do, but if you are having issues two things you can try to help.

1) When ready to hit the post button, stop and check everything first then hit post. Can not tell you number of times I lost a post in my hurry to move on. This program is like Excel, make a mistake and it does little to nothing to help you.
'night'.
2) Consider using a write program like word to type in everything but photos then cut then cut and paste to the Forum and drop in your photos. That way if post disappears you have word copy to just redo quickly.

Sorry I wish we could have all the bells and whistles of today's interactive programs but it works (mostly) and is loaded with way to information to transfer even if we could.

Rick, the movie was the Mandalorian. We had a great date night. Movie was OK, technical effects typical Disney magic .The two main characters  one does not talk (baby Yoda) and the other (Mandalorian) is not far behind so makes for lots of bang bang action and not much else.  We then walked over to an Italian restaurant we like and enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs on their outside patio. All in all every enjoyable probably because of the gal on my arm. She is a keeper and loves baby Yoda . She happy I am happy.

Today another muggy day so mostly working in garage on stuff and some benchtime. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Crew. Monday or as we call it here, just another weekend day. If it wasn't for the time, date and date in the upper left corner of my IPadPro I'm not really too sure I'd know the day of the week.

Rick, a paper mill thread here? Yes, I've thought about it but threads are lots of work and you see how hit and miss I've been posting on Facebook about it.

I did a Continuous Weathering thread on freight cars over on the Modelrailroadsforum.com from 2/2022 till 4/2026. Well received but lots of work and it began to feel like a job.

Another day yesterday of no modeling

Soccer is over for us till September when his Summer/Fall league begins. But his tryouts for it are today and Tuesday. Why?

Need gas in the car today and the price last night was $4.29. We do have fuel saver dollars from our grocery store of $2.46 per gallon to ease the pain. Though we did have pain buying the groceries to get the rewards!

Enjoy the day

Jerry

Morning everyone

Rick nice breakfast and coffee.
Beautiful picture.

Larry I hope this one works out for your daughter.

Morning Curt.  Sorry to hear your post when to the unknown land.

James good luck with the plumbing.

Philip I thought you could.

Mike don't those 1:1 activities get in the way!!  ;D

Jim were just fine without the bells & whistles.  Just glad we have this forum!!  :)

TomO a lot of work but we would sure appreciate it.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/64.  Later on 70 something.
Picnic was great.
Not sure what today will bring.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Jerry
