Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Sorry to hear your Dad got agitated having to run errands. Old folks sometimes struggle with reality; been there....done that. Enjoy your time at the bench.

Tom O. we're getting the same weather in NY, a heat alert has been issued with 97 temps and a 104 heat index; staying inside today.

Tom it's a good feeling when a lot gets accomplished at the bench.

What's your plans for the day.

It's 76 currently and sunny. Like I said 97 today. May run a quick errand shortly then some bench time is on today's docket. That's about it from here.

Have a great day!! Be well, stay cool and hydrated along with being safe.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Good luck with the windows.

TomO, hope the headaches stop.  Hope the weather cools up there.

TomACL, looking forward to your photos.  Congrats on the successful day in the shed.

Larry, wishing you fun at the bench.

How is the rest of the crew?

IT's a rainy morning with a high forecast for 78F. I dropped Sweetie off for a morning at the spa.  She getting a haircut more appropriate for the hot weather.

Upstairs working on the Model T is on the agenda for the day.  Lodge tonight.

Have fun,
mike

8) Sun and heat in the UP. The kids are off on an adventure of some sort and the Doll is staying here to keep me in line.  ???

No news.

Enjoy  ;)

Good Morning;

Thought I'd say hi. Overcast, muggy and good chance of rain later. I did get my walk in early today and enjoyed the porch with my coffee. The weight scale is telling me I need to lose a few pounds, the breathing is agreeing so will cut the treats out. We bought new furniture for the great room last week, a sectional with reclining seats, looks nice. So we had to pile up the old furniture until Habitat for Humanity picks it up tomorrow. It is all solid oak and in great shape but the kids say they don't want it. We changed it out because MBH said it was time. Happy wife...

Plan to work at the bench later, mostly electrical stuff on current building. I got the first floor done yesterday. Second floor and perhaps gooseneck lights outside today. It will be a 1910 pickle factory when complete, anchoring the far side of the canal on my little layout. My goal is to finish the canal area this year and power up the actual layout finally. The buildings are being used to get the NMRA AP for Structures. I have two more to do counting this one and will be done on that adventure. I am including a photo of where it is going, currently working on the big building. As you can see some assembly still required.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Jim, are your pickle vats going in the sheds you mocked up with card and blue tape?  The only small-scale pickle works I ever saw close up was in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, next to the New Haven's 4 track elevated RoW from Back Bay towards Providence. I wish I'd expended a few shots on it, but I was on a budget in 1981. The tanks were in an open yard enclosed by an 8-10 foot high brick wall. No tops or shelter at all.

Worked in the weed haven garden all day. Whoopeded!

Good Morning from a very muggy and smokey NY,

The morning beverages are ready on the counter. Breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs with bacon bits, sides of crispy bacon, can never have too much bacon, home fries, and toast.

Jim great looking scene on your layout; I've never seen anyone model a pickle factory should be fun to watch.

What's your day look like?

It's a hazy 80 with a high of 85. Yesterday we reached 97 but thankfully there was somewhat of a breeze but it was still HOT. Hope to do an update to my thread sometime today. Not much else going on here.

Have an enjoyable and safe day!! Be well and keep cool.

Good Hump Day to all this wet again Wisconsin morning. The dew is very heavy again today. Yesterday it took till 9 before the cushions even after flipping them over could be sat on out on the deck. Today it maybe heavier. Yes I should have brought them in but it's just dew and I can wait.

It's 70f degrees heading to 95. Offically it made it to 95 12 miles north of me but my home thermometer had 96. Its was warm but breezy yesterday morning and after 8pm. The WeatherChannel says its calm out there meaning, no breeze.

Yesterday we went and saw the movie Supergirl partly because we wanted to and we've seen the few current excellent rated movies at the 20 screen theater we go to. Plus, the movie has been criticized so much because of its "woke" political nature and being plain terrible. If this was going to become one of those "cult movies" because it was so bad we wanted to be sure to see it. Well it was better than all the Superman movies after Christopher Reeves by far and most of the Batman movies. As for being "woke", I missed it other than Supergirl is a miserable woman at 23 living a life she didn't want. I'm thinking those who say it's woke have not seen the movie. Would I recommend it? Sort of yes though I would suggest you watch it at home on your monitors to save a few bucks but if your tickets like ours are $6.00 each on Tuesdays with free popcorn in excellent seats that recline go to the theater. The Odessey will be here next week and we plan to see it

At 8 we are going over to the temporary new place to inspect the painting. Actually I'm going to nod my head to whatever Terry decides when we are there. The movers are still scheduled for tomorrow but we are waiting for the appliances to be delivered between 9am and 11! I did get one of those clear door beverage coolers out of the move. My old maybe 30 year old dorm frig was deemed worthy of recycling by the daughter and wife. There is a similar one in the grandson's room where his slot track is. It's very quiet compared to my old one.

The guy I helped build his layout the last couple years is having a session for us who helped him this Friday. We were not planning to be home till Sunday so I said I couldn't attend. Terry asked if I was going and told her no, she said I should go! So, I will but will be wondering why I am being told to go, something is up!

Stay cool and safe

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry. I look forward to your update.

Started out the day with a walk at 74F and moderate humidity. Yesterday I finished the windows and built 4 cupolas that will attach to the walls.

Today is floor day, so if I make it to the workbench it will be to read ahead in the instructions.

Nothing else planned for the day.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

It's 55 in Salida, mix of sun and clouds with a chance of afternoon rain and a high of 83.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and I'll look for your update.

Philip, hope you got some good rest last night.

Jim, thanks for the update on health, home and layout.

TomO, glad you enjoyed the movie and good luck with the new place.

Karl, keep having fun in the UP.

Ron, good news on the layout progress.

Mike, making any good progress on the T?

ACLTom, congratulations on the shed clean up.

Curt, keep having fun with the kit.
Did Brett announce a new kit?

How's everyone else.

On Monday I decided to drive to the trailhead I wanted to hike on Tuesday.
Zero cell service there.
I was glad though that I made that decision because I got a very early start and got some good sunrise pictures.
I haven't downloaded those yet to the computer and I'll do that later today and start processing them.
After the hike I headed a south about an hour.
Photo work and relaxing are the only plans today.

This is one of the goats I saw while hiking Mount Bierstadt.

Good morning!

Rested indeed Rick! Did you see the Bison attack that old man? Be careful out there!

Thanks for the bacon Larry!

Plenty to do but lowly motivated with the heat outdoors.

For certain I'm mowing today.

I made more tin sheets last night, a miniature version of Martin's huge ones. Maybe 80+ to go!

The 78th trip around the sun is today's landmark.

Kids were out late from their adventure yesterday. Apparently driving after dark drew massive amounts of bugs up into their path. Stepson said they closed off the speed and lane center sensor devices on the Subaru SUV he rented.

Dinner later should be nice if $$$  :D

Enjoy the day all.

Btw it was over 100o yesterday as the car reg 99.for a long time when we were out :P

Good morning,

Larry, thanks for breakfast. Looking forward to the update.

TomO, good luck with the new place.

Curt, good luck with the chores.

Rick, wishing you a relaxing day.

Philip, take it easy on the mower.

Karl, happy birthday.

How is the rest of the gang?

It's my 79th trip around the sun.  Discovered that my passport was out of date, and I have a vacation cruise coming up next month.  Yikes.

No progress upstairs.  Seems like 1:1 is winning the race.

Have fun,
mike
