Good Morning,

Tom O meeting up with a bear and her cubs is the last thing you want in your day; didn't know they made a bear spray. Enjoy the nicer weather and thanks for the coffee and breakfast this morning.

What's your day look like?

It's a cloudy and rainy 61 with a high of 77. Rained most of yesterday gently so the grass is starting to look much better. The Doc's visit went very well yesterday and I was told for my age I'm in excellent health which is welcome news. Managed a little bench time yesterday and maybe some more today. Just playing around with a little scenery waiting for my 2 orders to show up.

How's everyone else?

Star and I did a nice 8 mile hike yesterday morning.
Then continued driving towards Ouray.
Along the way I spotted a sign for a roundhouse and got off the highway to investigate.
I'll start a new thread on what I saw.
There's a National Park not far from here that I haven't been to yet.
I'll stop at the visitors center to get some info before doing a couple of hikes there tomorrow.

Saw this deer on the trail yesterday and wondered if it was one of Karl's vacationing in Colorado. 



I found the change in geology at the Great Sand Dunes NP interesting.
On one side of the road it was the Sahara and on the other side it was your typical Colorado mountain scenery.
This is a picture from a trail I hiked there and in the distance you can see the sand dunes.

Rick, what roundhouse is that/where is it located?  I'm presuming you're in RGS territory.

I'm taking a break from scenery and building a little coal dock.  Pictures later today.

At daughter's house for one more day. The work at the house should be done later today sometime. Not looking forward to the moving and loading of the cool/frozen stuff but it will be nice sleeping in my own bed again.

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/71.  Later P. sunny/76.
The work continues on the shingles slow but I'm getting there.

Larry, bear spray is a thing, when I was working in BC and went on hikes I carried bear spray and wore bells on my shoes.  Glad the Dr's visit went well.

Dave, I've seen signs like that one, but not that particular one, I really like the last paragraph.

Curt, before you know it, the reno's will be done and you will be moved back in.  By the end of the weekend it will all be over.

Jerry, hope you make it back to the bench after the errands.  You know we are all waiting for an update. 

Current temperature is 20c (68f) mostly cloudy with 70% chance of showers today.  Goal today is to spend some time at the bench and work on the turntable.

Sunny and warm in my area. No bears, lots of deer. Last trip North the neighbors texted bear pix from their trail can. Best to not get between Momma and Lil Smokey if you're out on the trail.

Picked up a Shake the Box kit at the hobby store and have it 1/2 finished on the bench. Bought 3 used books at the book store. Even with a gift card I'm not one to pay $25 to $35 or more for new books I'll devour in 2-3 day then send to Goodwill of St Vincent d'Pauls

1:1 might take a little time or? Shake that box a bit more. Kadees, weight and Intermountain wheels, light weather and light dusting of FLAT.

Needing rain. Daughter has a yearly craft show in the park this Saturday   Forecast is 75% chance.

REI has bear spray locally so after our Thursday breakfast out we will stop there. I guess it really is just pepper spray.

I mentioned the bears elsewhere this morning and Dave your sign popped up. Love the last line

The bells sound like a good idea. The DNR said where the bears were seen Tuesday and its about 6 miles northwest of us but why take chances

Greetings!
They've recently spotted a black bear out here in West Tennessee 'round the corner from the country church I go to. Maybe black bears really do eat squirrels. Squirrels are a nuisance.
