They've recently spotted a black bear out here in West Tennessee 'round the corner from the country church I go to. Maybe black bears really do eat squirrels. Squirrels are a nuisance.

To clean out squirrels, you want foxes!

Bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll for breakfast today.

Spent the night just outside the Black Canyon NP.
I'm here at the park now waiting for sunrise to take some pictures.
A short hike or two later by myself (no dogs on the NP trails).
I'll probably spend one more night here.

What's your day look like?

It's a sunny 64 with a high of 80. Has anyone seen where the month of July went? It flew by. Errands shortly then the rest of the day is uncertain. That's it from here.

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Star indeed needs more treats.

We finished moving back into the house last night about 8 pm. I was in bed by 8:30. Thankfully son was off yesterday so he helped a lot.  

Today I'm getting ready to go outside to clean ice chests and animal boxes. I was too tired to do it yesterday. Also today is my middle brother's 69th birthday.

Current weather is 19c (67f) and cloudy.  At least there is no rain in the forecast today. 

Managed some time at the bench yesterday and made some progress on the turntable build.  I posted an update yesterday and will post another update this morning.  Not sure if that will happen before or after I take Gracie to the groomer (spa day).  Plan to get back to the bench later today.

Sun and heat today in Michigan with a little rain in the forecast for the afternoon late running into tomorrow. We need rain but daughter with the craft show is worried that it will hurt Saturday she's prepared all summer for.

Bench or layout may get some attention today.

Good Morning Folks;

We are up at Chattanooga which I came up for originally for the NMRA convention. I invited a son and family to join us so we rented a house on the TN river and have had a great week. The grandkids love fishing and their youthful energy has made me feel 10 years younger. I have made it to the convention twice and saw my friend Craig Brotman give a standing room only presentation on weathering. He is part of the 'lost gang' we had formed when the Forum was in trouble and Dave K put together a great trip to see George Sellios and his layout. That is when I really got hooked on modeling. Unfortunately COVID and politics came along and the gang petered out. 

Today I am taking everyone to the local train museum, having a train ride and eating in another train terminal turned restaurant. Tomorrow kids head home and momma nd me hit the show for the vendor part. Most likely we will head home Sunday but we will see.

So here is our daughter in law and two of the grandkids. Not many grandfather's can say they are surrounded by beautiful blonde woman but I can! And they all know how to bait a hook!! It has been a great week.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/72.  Later on 84.
Two off the grandkids are coming today.
This is the week all of them come to the shore for vacation.
Do they'll stay overnight then head there tomorrow.
It will be the usual group of 4 kids their wives and the 10 grandkids.
They rent 3 places at the shore.
Now that doesn't count the 15 or so neighbors that come down with them and rent places.
Last year our group at the beach was about 20 some!!! 

Shingling continues almost to the top of the 3rd wall.

Thick sliced French toast with real Canadian maple syrup, fresh churned Wisconsin butter and sides of bacon and/or sausage for breakfast today.

I was out early yesterday taking sunrise pictures.
Conditions weren't great and don't know how the photos look because I haven't downloaded them yet.
There will be plenty of other hikes for Star to do.
Yesterdays hike was a short one at just a little over three miles.
I stayed close to the park with hopes of getting sunset pictures but once again conditions weren't great for that.
I'll drive into town today and make a quick stop at the gym and then continue towards Ouray and my next hike.
Fortunately Rt. 550 near Ouray is open once again and saves me over a hundred miles of driving.
The road was closed because of flooding that caused massive mud slides across the road.
