Shortly after Taylor tried marketing Taylor Ham, the government stepped in and said you can't call it ham because there's not enough ham in the product.
The name was changed to Pork Roll.
Case, who also makes Pork Roll has always called it that.
Both companies are in Trenton, NJ.
Having grown up in that area we have always called it Pork Roll.
Only in north Jersey do they call it ham.
You can not go to the store and buy a product called Taylor Ham.
It's all labeled as Pork Roll.

48 in Idaho Springs, mix of sun and clouds with a high of 64 later.
Had a little bit everything yesterday.
Sun, clouds, rain and some small hail.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Assorted boxes of cold cereals are on the counter for breakfast today.

Jerry, old habits are hard to break.   

Mike, the birds are grateful for the meal.

TomO, that's going to be an impressive bridge.

Ron, any layout work last night?

Karl, I tried fish tacos a couple of years ago in San Diego and thought they were good.

Larry, congratulations on finishing your diorama.

Curt, how's the outdoor project going?

Jamie, hope the dentist visit went well.

I'm up earlier than I wanted to be.
Guess I napped too much yesterday.
One more hike this morning.
It will be a short one.
Less than three miles.
But it's a reverse hike, meaning it starts with a climb down and then a little more than 1,000' of climbing back out.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Today was my typical breakfast. Nice photo.

Started out the day with a walk at 77F and moderate humidity. Yesterday I helped SIL dig in the yard for flower beds. At least it wasn't in direct sunlight. I also finished the second dock. Next up is a massive one used in the shipyard and uses dowels for legs which is a first for me.

I don't know if I'll be helping SIL later as he is tied up until late afternoon. First I have floors then I'll start on the 3rd dock.

It's cooler today at 88F, rain this evening.  Looks like rain every afternoon for the next five days or so.  No progress to report.  Maybe today.

Good morning from a gloomy looking Wisconsin. So different than the past bright and cheery 7-8 mornings but it's 65 now heading to 81f degrees. The guessers are saying via the WeatherChannel app there is a chance of pop up T-storms.

Yesterday there were 4 in the shop working on projects for the 2 layouts. Today just the guy who will paint the structures and trees along with the continuing air brush education of our grandsons. The grandsons start school 9/2 not 9/9 as I wrote. On Monday and Wednesday they will come to the shop after school for a couple hours during September.  Then they will decide to continue or not.

The plumber is due between noon and 4 for a Terry project but she wants me here. The little entrance hallway from the garage to the stairs and elevator need to be enlarged and that will need space taken from the mudroom in the stable. I think this cements the idea we are staying here or I hope. This place is starting to slowly grow on me. I really would like a space I could veg out in but there is none without a costly adjustment.

We saw the movie last night The Rivals of Amziah King with Matthew McCaunethay and it was good and had a few very unexpected plot turns

Sun to start is fading, t-storms be on the forecast around noon or so.

We have the a/c guy coming to install a device on the a/c designed to ease the starting jolt of the compressor.  I may have some layout time, not sure. 

Sad here at the passing of Ms Parton.  I attended a concert outdoors at Michigan State U quite a few years and found her to be probably the nicest, most inclusive, down home entertainers of my experience. We had real good seats, a friend's wife was on the concert promotion board. As Dr. Jeff said at the other daily, we're all aging out with our entertainment heros.

Another nice photo, Rick, not sure a down then back up hike would be as enjoyable, for me. As if any hike of much significance might be fun...

Dentist said all my numbers look great. I get to keep my teeth for another 6 months. The $2 tacos were delicious. How that place makes any money on them is a mystery.

It's hard to believe how fast this month is going by. I have a long weekend coming up this week so I am looking forward to that.

Karl although I never met Ms. Parton I feel the same as most Americans.

The one "talent" I met in person on a EMS standby was Marlee Matlin at Epcot during a Christmas show that lasted more than a month that had guest speakers read the Christmas story. She was the only speaker that stopped backstage to say hello and ask how we were doing. That left an lasting impression.

I had my annual eye appointment yesterday, doc says I'm 20-20 for distance. 

Right now I'm watching "Die Hard", which I've never seen end-to-end (while my wife is at an appointment all morning...)   It's a real period piece, the cars, the hair, the clothes, the Control Data mainframe, etc.  Afterwards I'll head downstairs and tackle something in the train room.
