Good evening from a sort of wet Wisconsin. The hoped for heavy storms so far today has produced 1/4" of rain in the gauge.

Today's Ops Session was excellent except I did feel it was held in Karl's meat locker. Damn it was cold but with 17 operators and the owner it makes sense. I had a great time. I picked the road pool and ended up with 6 trains today. Everything just seemed to flow today...

The firepit is going and s'mores are available. The bar is open but I'm having a diet caffeine free Pepsi. We also have firepit popcorn or in the corner is the microwave if you swing that way with your popping of corn!

Rick

Tom, I'll take you up on the popcorn and a cold beer.
Glad you had a good time at the ops.

Rick

Good morning everyone.

41 in Empire now, cloudy with a high of 56 later.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Two eggs the way you like them, crispy bacon and/or sausage patties with home fries for breakfast today.

TomO, I saw the pictures you posted from yesterday's ops and it looks like a very nice layout.

Philip, doing anything hobby related is all good.

Jerry, congratulations on wall 3.

Dave, I'll have to research internet providers when I get home.

Ron, I cut the cable cord years ago and never looked back.
Can't believe F1 took another week off.

Mike, I found the instructions lacking too.

Karl, how was yesterday's ops?

Curt, hope the two new arrivals get along with the others.

Larry, have fun with your new project.

How's everyone else?

Got my shopping and gym visit done yesterday.
Then took off towards Rocky Mtn. NP.
I'm still about 50 miles from the trail I want to do there.
Since Star can't hike in the NP, there's a nice trail I found 5 miles down the road that we'll do together this morning.

This is Upper Chicago Lake in Idaho Springs.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Enjoy your hike with Star today.

Today is a rescue day, but the owner now says that they are only surrendering one skunk :o Of course this is the same person that was going to surrender both about six months ago then decided while we were there that no I've decided to keep them.

After that MOH needs to pick up a folding table for her upcoming OH trip then a pick up at Wally World.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast and enjoy your hike with Star. We've only used the internet for streaming our TV programs for years now; a whole lot cheaper than cable. The new project should be fun.

Curt sounds like the guy doesn't know what he wants as far as pets are concerned; good luck. Sounds like a busy day, take care.

What's the rest of you doing today?

It's a cloudy 67 with a high of 74 and rain; so They say. Going to warm up this week which is par for the course with the Fair running. Kids have a little over a week and it's back to school on 9/8; although one Schoo; is starting back up on 9/3. Maybe some bench time later on.

Have an enjoyable and safe day!! Be well.

Good morning Crew. 70f degrees now 85 later but the humidity after being gone almost 2 weeks has returned.

The granddaughter turned 15 yesterday and her party was with 5 other special needs kids. Terry says it went  very well. More adults yesterday which was needed because they all went in the pool for some fun. Today at 1 it's a family and neighbor party for her. She loves her birthday!

Enjoy your day

Good morning,

Rick, thanks for opening and breakfast.  Hope you enjoy today's hike.

Curt, it must be hard to give up their pets.

Larry, have fun at the bench.

TomO, happy birthday to your granddaughter.

Philip, what 3D printer did you decide on?

Jerry, the new TV sounds nice.  Congrats on finishing the 3rd wall.

Ron, congrats on the fiber.  It is amazing how those costs add up.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a hazy morning and still warm.  Yesterday's visit was a lot of fun.  The weather was nice, and the drive was pleasant.  I took the Z on the interstate for the first time and had to watch my foot because I was doing 90 before I knew it.  No modeling yesterday, maybe today.

Have fun,
mike

I'm really enjoying Rick's photos from the Front Range.

Curt, hope the rescues work out, and if the guy keeps one, he takes good care of it.

Yesterday's Scotch Club was very well attended, 16 (including 7 women), and 3 big dogs.  It was a blast watching the dogs run around and play.  Theme was Isle of Skye, Talisker vs Torabahaig.

I'm still putzing with 'mid-ground' tree techniques.  The one approach I tried made a big mess, I went back and watched a couple more videos.  "You're doing it wrong."   :o

Rain overnight and continues this morning. .6" in the gage moments ago.

OPS went well yesterday, worked an out and back industrial turn and a road train. While passing the passenger station I saw a glitzy set of power on one of the ready tracks.

Aren't grand kids gifts great?

Might wander to the layout later. Need to take a chill out day, the rain will help ;)

Enjoy the day everyone.

Kids all started school here at least a week or more ago.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, it's to bad that dogs are not allowed in National Parks.  No F1 race this week means that there are races the next 2 weekends. 😊  Enjoy the hike with star this morning.

Curt, hope you don't make the trip for nothing.

Larry, we have also been streaming for years, hence the cutting of the cable umbilical cord.

TomO, Happy Birthday to your granddaughter.

Mike, sounds like you had a great ride yesterday.

Dave, hope you get the tree situation figured out.

Kark, glad the op session went well.

Jerry, seeing you finish the third wall, should we be expecting an update within a reasonable time?  ;D

Current temperature here is 19c (66f) with cloudy skies, although there is a 60% chance of showers later today.  Had a busy morning already as I made a very expensive trip to Costco (membership was due) :o and did the grocery run.  There was some progress on the layout yesterday with the tunnel enlargement completed.  The blasting was less messy than expected.  Next step is to lay the track through the tunnel to get to the other side of the great divide, which is planned for today.

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon from wet Wisconsin. 1/2" so far when 0 was predicted!

The granddaughters get together today was a bit chaotic. 1st place at 1 rained out. 2nd choice no longer opens on Sundays. 3rd place usually pretty darn good was just ok and not the best service but the place was mobbed because the area soccer games got rained out. But Harper was fine it was the adults a bit frazzled

I'm on the balcony deciding if I should stay out here or not. More rain possible in 20 minutes and it's now windy! The sky has a goofy yellow look directly south but Southwest is sky blue no clouds. We can use the rain but storms are unnecessary
