Good Morning.  The sun is out in the northeast corner of Massachusetts. It will still be cool today with the warmer weather coming back the 1st of the week.  Today is also my last day of being employed by the big city for the past 38 years. Can't say I'll  miss it, it was time. Spent more time at the bench yesterday,  hopefully it will become more common. A photo of other retirees..

National Train Show tomorrow (for the unwashed masses as the convention goers get a sneak peek at 5 pm today). I have my list ready. I need to drop off all those empty bottles and soda cans so I can cash in for the big haul.

Morning all,

Congrats on your retirement, Dan.  Mine was in March and I have not missed work one bit. 

Hopefully some cheap FSM kits at the show, Jaime.

Rain on and off (hopefully more on) all day, headed to mid 80s. 

Continued work on the kit and added a turnout control yesterday, we'll see what today brings.

Well, hopefully the Big City will continue to run without Raymo...  I don't miss the work, but I do miss some of the people I worked with.

It's overcast in our part of the world, but kinda cool for the end of July.  NOT complaining!  We'll see if I build up steam to work on stuff in the train room.

Greetings from Chattanooga;

I woke up to some of the nicest weather of the week. While the original reason for me coming here was the NMRA convention I have spent the vast majority of my time with the grandkids. It has been fantastic. Makes you feel ten years younger. 

I am taking everyone to the train museum and taking the train ride. Tomorrow morning the kids and grandkids head home and Deb and I will go to the convention show to see what is for sale. I have only seen a couple of presentations and one was put on by one of the 'Lost Forum' gang (a group of us that got together to see George Sellios and his incredible layout years ago. Graig Brotman has become one of the best structure and scenery modelers I know. His presentation was a standing room only. Amazing work Graig!

Well off to some morning fishing, Have a great day.

Great morning everyone.  Excellent news, Raymo, I've enjoyed my retirement for some time now.  I miss some of the work, few if any of those I worked with except my K9 partner, Wrangler.

Nice weather this morning in Michigan, moderate humids, temps heading to mid 80s.  Rain to hit late or overnight into tomorrow.  It is much needed.  We had racoons, a skunk and a big black cat all at the bird bath and seed feeders throughout the night.  No sign of the possum since I removed the trap.  No sign this week since I 'removed' the ground hog of any more.

I made some progress at the workbench yesterday. Today's not looking so good as far as workbench time. I need to get my PT stretching in after wasting the morning. Maybe afterwards I can pull out the workbench and get something accomplished.

Some guy that used to own some gas stations and traded them in for a bunch of FSM kits got me here. Maybe he's reading this now.
