60 in Canton, rain and wind all morning a high of 76 in the PM.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Assorted bagels, danish and muffins for breakfast today.

Mike, both of our NFC teams didn't fair well yesterday.

Jerry, anything good planned today?

Larry, glad you don't have to pay the full school tax.

Dave, good news on figuring out the laser issue.

Ron, the young kid can't help himself from winning.

Philip messaged me on FB and he's OK.

How's everyone else?

It rained on and off all morning and that delayed the planned hike.
It finally cleared up after lunch and we went out and did a bit more than 3.5 miles.
The leaves are just barely starting to turn.
Today looks like another rainy day.
I need to get a much needed haircut.
I'll also try and meet up with my realtor to pick up the title for the house.

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast as well as another nice photo. Glad you were able to do your hike. Always nice to get a haircut especially if you still have some left to cut. I tell ya I've paid my fair share of School Taxes over the years so this is a welcome relief.

What's your plans?

It's a p cloudy 56 with a high of only 69. The hummingbirds are still around but not sure how much longer. We usually keep our feeder up a couple weeks more after they leave just for any migrating birds. The morning will be filled with grocery shopping and starting laying in some extra provisions for what's to come weather wise. Started designing the dock for the diorama; it'll be challenging but fun.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Our leafs turn in January. They turn brown and fall off.

Starting off today doing laundry. MOH will be back this afternoon at some points. She's been having issues with the van so it's definitely on its way out. It had a good 19 year run.

After chores today is Dad's weekly errands so I don't know if I'll make it to the workbench today. Tomorrow Dad has a late afternoon medical appointment.

Yesterday I got the roof and floor bracing in which was VERY fiddly. I ended up having to use CA glue for those parts. I also put the floor planks in.

Not much else happening this way.

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  The weekend was a total bust for me: NCAA loss, baseball loss, and NFC loss.  The only bright spot was the WNBA world cup, USA won gold.  I've been wondering if you suffer withdrawal when you don't hike for at least 10 miles?

Larry, looking forward to the dock.  Hope the weather isn't too bad up there.

Curt, fiddly projects aren't much fun.  Will you replace the van?

How goes the rest of the gang?

It's going to be another hot one here at 95F.  Fall weather is not in sight.  Sharon is going to the coast for a few days to the casinos. I'll stay here and work on several 1:1 to-do items.  I didn't work on the engine shed over the weekend.  Maybe later today.

Good chilly Wisconsin morning. 42f degrees heading to 70. Maybe rain this evening.

I will be able to post the videos after the grades are issued and it will on my Wisconsin Interstate page and I will post the link here. It will also be on their YouTube. We are looking at December.

7pm tree meeting with the makers and layout owner. The 3rd of our 5 man layout crew said to me he's burnt out on this layout. Agreed to built to operations but didn't agree to full scenery. Looks like all 5 of us will be stepping back after the 10/14 invitational Ops Session. Even every other Friday here has become too much. Oh well we all kept our promise, it would be operational 6/27 and it was with 2 sessions that day and a couple more already this month. Now it's getting time to move on...

We have goats! I hired in June a crew of goats to clean out 40-50 acres of overgrown woodland/wetlands. The Wi. DNR suggested since bigger mowers would sink or get stick to hire goats. Fenced in 3-5 acre parcels they are moved daily. We pay by the day and the number of goats over 50. They were planning to use 60 goats per day. 2 dogs and 2 herders who will over night in camper trailers for 10 days to 2 weeks. They finally are coming today.

Well, Mike, I think I had the opposite weekend.  Saturday was beautiful, there were 2 sessions of Scotch Club (On Friday night's 'audible', I was only there for a couple minutes and one taste.)  Sunday after brunch (we slept in late), I did nothing all day. The Stillers beat the Falcons, with a great interception by TJ Watt.  And I read a lot more on the new laser. 

Rick, glad you're doing local stuff for the next couple of days.  My friend in northeast Vermont (the "Northeast Kingdom") reports "The leaves are starting to fall with faint yellowish hues.  The birches and apples are dropping first."

Good morning everyone,
Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, looks like there is no stopping the kid, although he had some good luck with the VSC that happened just as Norris past the pit entrance.  Great picture as usual.

Larry,  our school taxes work the same way (except we don't get a break) but due with the property taxes.  Don't spent too much at the grocery store, other people might need stuff. 😊

Curt, sounds like it's your dad's weekly spending day.

Mike, hope the 1:1 stuff leaves you some time to get upstairs.

TomO, goats to clean out woodlands/wetlands?  Never heard of that before but it makes sense when you think about it.  I do understand about layout burnout, I've been there before.

Current weather here is 15c (58f) and sunny.  After Gracie and I finished our walk I don't know who was more tired, her or me.  I think that will be the last walk we will do together is when I came back the Mrs had a to-do list for me.  I did make it the modeling room where I spent time cutting out foam inserts for the Milwaukee packout (2-drawer) unit that will house my locomotives and rolling stock I take to set-ups.  One drawer is done, plan to do the other one tonight.

Lions tried real hard to loose yesterday blew a 21 point lead to go to OT and "won" because the Saints blew a 2 point attempt in OT to win rather than assuring a tie.

Arrived 1537 hours, Northern Command was established.

Dave, I think next week might be a good time to see some fall colors.

Mike, distance won't cause me hiking withdrawal.
Hiking in the mountains, walking through a dense pine and aspen forest and being alone in the middle of nowhere with epic views will cause withdrawal.

Curt, maybe another update soon?

Larry, I saw a post last week about a new arthritis drug that regrew hair completely in 55% of those that took it.

ACLTom, is your eyesight improving?

I did get a haircut but went home afterward because it was non-stop raining.
Got some things done inside at home.
Stopping at the bank today to transfer the rest of my money from NJ to here.

This was back in June in Boulder, CO on the Fern Canyon Trail.
