No surprises from my wife's procedure yesterday, and That's A Good Thing.  

A story about casinos:  My computer standards group had quarterly meetings around the country (and some international meetings).  This was a rather large group, maybe 200, and we needed lots of breakout rooms for the various committees.  That tended to limit hotel choices.  One year we went to the Hyatt on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe.  Most of us dropped a quarter or two into the slots, just to say "been there, done that."  At the next meeting, our event coordinator told us we were not invited back.  The hotel said it was because we didn't gamble enough and ate too many desserts from the lunch buffet.  Our coordinator told the hotel, "I told you this is a meeting of computer nerds, what did you expect???"

Today's breakfast for the motorcycle riders went well.  I had sausage duty.  Sharon is off to a play with our daughter, so I am free to head upstairs.  I plan to continue work on the engine shed roof.

Back from the train show. Bought two kits and five water color pictures of the EBT.

Can't wait to get the mower. My John Deer tractor mower is getting hard to steer without power steering.

Good morning Crew. We are home.

Since I'm the only one in the Lounge breaksfast is ready. 1st the Ashpit blend of coffee for those that drink, it's hot, thick and has quite a bit of caffeine to keep you awake. All other liquid refreshments are there at the end of the bar. The main course today are nice big Belgian waffles with or without chicken. The chicken is a nice lightly crisped chicken tender from our free range chickens purchased at the frozen grocery freezer. Fruits, we have green grapes, bananas and raspberries. If you prefer yogurts we have Greek with optional granola and use the fruit

It's 55 heading to 64f degrees here at home. The range gauge was full at over 6" but officially Verona received 2.86" of needed rain. Maybe just a cloud burst over my gauge! It continued raining after we got home Saturday evening but I have not gone outside yet. Some chances of rain today but the rain returns for sure tomorrow.

Driving in rain and sometimes fog yesterday was different for sure. We did stop at all the places we had hoped to yesterday. The 3.5 hour drive directly home took 10.25 hours! We wandered as we wanted and visited the places we wanted.

What's your plans?

It's 59 with a high of 64 with rain. Surprisingly with all the rain we've had the grass isn't really growing all that much. I'm down to mowing every 2 weeks. Once we get a killing frost then the mowing will stop and leaf mulching will start. Yesterday was a bust on decs but today is for sure. No bench time in my immediate future.

Good Morning All,

TomO thanks for opening and breakfast. You had some interesting travels yesterday.

Still fighting the cold but felt good enough to do a morning walk but I was beat by the end.

Yesterday I sucked it up and got to the workbench for about an hour. I attached the drive belt and worked on a cupola for the saw shed but the more I think about it the more I don't think I'll add it. To me it doesn't make sense as it is unusable.

Today after chores I'll head to the workbench and put the roof on the saw shed.

Rick I saw doorways like that in Skagway on my last cruise.

It stormed last night and more rain is coming this afternoon.  It is cooler, finally.  Today's plan is watching sports with Sharon.  She is a big fan and likes it more than me. Don't think I'll make it upstairs for long.

Clouds, mid 50s, breezy outside here in the UP. Looking at the weather app it's raining back home. We had a train cam shot from home yesterday. The big patch of grass I planted is up and green. The grass experts say mid Aug to mid September is the ideal time to install new grass.

My Spartans were defeated at South Bend by a well prepared team deserving their #3 ranking. 

Preparing for the trip home tomorrow will keep us occupied.

Thanks for breakfast TomO.

Pam and I had lunch with Bill and Cindy yesterday. Cindy thinks he is doing really well. I don't agree. I've seen him several times in the past few months and his walking isn't getting any better. Several or our friends agree with me. I don't see much improvement. He needs help to get up to the table. And,  its hard for him to get up from the table.

We agreed we will try a SBG in early November. I'm very concerned that it will be hard on him to get from the car, around the pool, into the shed and then to his chair in the corner where our command station is located.

When this does happen, I'll make sure Curt is available. He is a past EMT with the fire dept.. I won't attempt to get Bill in here without his help. I wish the news was better, but it isn't.

Now some news on me. I have 7 days of radiation left, I hope I make it.  For the past week I've been getting the EBRT, External Based Radiation Treatment. Although it is called external, it is basically a radiation treatment focusing on where the prostrate was prior to removal in 2017. The side effect is a radiation burn of the Urethra at the bottom of the bladder. This causes the feeling of needing to urinate (there is no time to find a bathroom) and only a few drops as a result. Oh, and it burns like H**l. There is no infection, just the result of the fried radiation area. More information than you all needed to read but this should answer the emails I've been getting.

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/71 with rain in the forecast.
We have a plumber coming over to replace two on and off faucets for the washing machine.

Good late afternoon to anyone who looks in.  I've spent a while in my orchard today, so I'll set small baskets of Baldwin, Haralson and Beacon apples on the counter. They and the pawpaws will be fine tomorrow morning, but the pawpaws don't last nearly as long as the 'keeper' apples.

No modeling progress yet, and the carburetor rebuild is unchanged. But I have spent a while on slides and records of where I took them.
