Late afternoon

I had to read it twice!!  Rick is back to working!!  ;D
Good for you I'm sure you will keep busy as the first snows start coming your way!!
What are you going to tell him in the Spring??
That your a traveling man!!  8)

Well dinner is almost ready so I have to keep this short today.
The Dr. visit went well but he still doesn't know why I have shortness of breath!
Maybe the on on Friday will take a guess or possible the one on Monday!!
But this is sure a PITA.

Work continues on wall four.

Rick when I first retired and moved to Sarasota FL I worked in a convenience store in a not so good part of town. It was always interesting and a lot of SMH.

Good morning everyone.

45 now, cloudy with a high of 57 later.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll for breakfast today.

Curt, I'm in the kitchen making pizzas and a couple of fryer foods so I don't come into contact with any people.
With that said, the people here are very nice and friendly.

Jerry, not sure yet what I'll do this summer.
That's a long ways off.

ACLTom, hope you enjoyed your lazy day.

Ron, I don't see a link to your webpage on your post here.

TomO, congratulations on your grandsons hockey prowess.

Greg, I feared the worst when I started reading your post and then relaxed when I read that they had retired.

Karl, hope your post today doesn't disappear.

Mike, I wouldn't be motivated to work on anything electrical either.

Larry, bench time?

How's everyone else?

Work went well yesterday and today is another short 9 -1 day.
On Sunday night just after midnight I was woken by a loud boom and the house shook.
Since I was sleeping I wasn't sure if I dreamt it or if it was real.
After posting here yesterday I found on FB posts about a garage that blew up about 4 or 5 blocks from me.
1 person was killed and the cause of the blast is yet to be determined.

Todays picture is a bit different.
One of the themes we were to photograph for the scavenger hunt was motion blur.
I did Intentional Camera Movement to photograph this branch with green and yellow leaves by moving the camera down as I clicked the shutter.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. My guess for the explosion is gas or meth. I see you caught a ghost in your photo.

Started out the day with a walk at 66F and slightly breezy. Leaving here in about 45 minutes for the VA. Dad has a podiatry appointment and I need to go to sick call again for same reason as before and give blood. So, for me no eating or drinking other than water.

Nothing much else planned for the day.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Wow! an explosion....that's a scary way to wake up. How did Star handle the noise? I ran out of steam yesterday after a-not-so-good sleep the previous night. Nice photo; Jackson Pollek would be proud. Nice to hear th new job is working out well.

Curt sorry to hear you're having issues again; hope they figure it out and your Dad's visit goes well. Take life easy, if you can, for awhile.

What's your plans?

It's a sunny 34 with a high of 53. Didn't have the energy to do much yesterday afternoon except try and stay awake. Today I hope to get the porch cleaned and maybe grind up more leaves. Still not sure about any bench time though.

Have a great and safe day!! Be well and heal up so you get back to normal.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast and fresh OJ Rick. When I first looked at your picture, I thought my cataract was much worse than I thought.  ;D I did enjoy my lazy day but it turned out to be an in depth clean up of the train shed. It was long over due.

As Curt said, it is a cool 65 here this morning.

Pam has bowling at noon, I'll go and watch as I'm not ready to start bowling.

Not much else is going on here today.

Have a safe, happy and healthy day everyone.

Good morning crew. Thanks Rick for opening. I'll have another diet Dr Pepper.

Terry went grocery shopping yesterday without me and that's rare. She's feeling good right now and said she didn't need me or her friend Pat to be hovering. Pat is here until Saturday for sure depending on what the surgeon says during Thursday's appointment. Terry hates the spa but set appointments anyway for this afternoon for the both of them.

They asked me about driving an hour to Beloit to try out the newest HoChunk Casino. Then they decided to wait to see what the doctor says. The casino opened last week on the 23rd and will be the largest in Wisconsin when completed next year. But the main floor is open

I will try again to accomplish something at my workbench. I tried at 7pm last night and did nothing for the time I was there. Thankfully my commission diesel weathering jobs are complete and just waiting to bill 11/1 to ship.

Enjoy your day

Good Morning folks,

I'm marking myself safe from employment & explosions today...... what a restart Rick !
As far as modeling.. use that money for a new layout adventure.

Finished the chimney yesterday after completing the dead garden plant removal Saturday. Gena again derailed my plan. ;D

Finally a breather and heading to the shop!

To health! Cheers!

Clouds and cool in MI.

Burnt out at the bench yesterday. Finding that while my hands are totally without shake, fortunate, my fine detail dexterity is terrible. Numb fingers  :-[  Took me forever to put three brake gear B end details on a shake the box Bowser hopper car, assemble coupler boxes  >:( and ended up achy, half blind, pissed off and just a bit depressed. Two lighting aids needed batteries or recharge and Ended up wide awake 0530 with shoulder/neck pain.

Enjoy the job Rick. I worked for a Dominoes Pizza at the end of my college days, got a ticket making a delivery. 4 days in. Looking for a law enf job i decided that was not a good way to go. Saw Mgr pick a pizza up off the floor and bake it didnt encourage me either. Only highlight was Dominoes was so small then that Tom Monihan, Eventual owner of Detroit Tigers, drove up from Ypsilanti to meet and interview me to be a manager. He took a much different path than I did.

1:1 or layout later.

Be well all, best to all with medical appointments.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast  Rick, very interesting picture, kind of went "wow" when I looked at it.  My website is https://www.cvry.ca/  Hope you have another good day at work today.

Curt, hope the visit to the VA goes well.

Larry, hopefully the porch gets dome today, nothing wrong with taking a day off.

Tom, hope Pam does well at bowling today.

TomO, Glad to heat that Terry is doing well.  Hope you get some inspiration at the bench today.

Philip, have fun in the shop.

Karl, Hopefully you will have a better day at the layout, if you make it there today.

Current weather is 2c (36f) and sunny so it's a great day weather wide. 😊  No modeling last night as I spent time working on the first clinic I'm giving this weekend, should finish that tonight and hopefully start the second clinic I'm giving.

Have a great day everyone.

Highs have dropped about 15 degrees in SE NH, but it's still bright and sunny.  I worked part-time at a hobby shop, and the owner taught me what (little) I know about business. Mostly, he taught me "I don't want to work that hard."

Down to the train room, for some time on the exercise machine and then to get back to probably the waterway project.

A friend sent me this, for those of you still working:

Good afternoon, all. I went out early to meet a Tech Model RR Club friend for breakfast in Ayer, MA. A bit daunting that Goog thought I should allow 90 min for the normal 50 min. drive, but that's rush hour on I-495 in the Merrimack Valley. Got there a little early and was joined by 3 other modelers I know from the HUB Division.  Decent breakfast but very slow; they were apparently understaffed compared to last month.  Visiting my friend's N-scale pre-PC New York & Long Branch layout, he and I were happy I can still see and fix issues with N scale track. The drive home was much faster. Lunch was simple and brief, now checking the 'net before errands in town and chores in the barn.

Modeling tonight, trolley track work tomorrow!

We actually rode on NY&LB tracks a couple of times, from Red Bank back into NYC, when we lived on the Jersey Shore.  If you took any photos, I'd like to see them, particularly if he's built any of those attractive NY&LB stations.

I'm just back from the train room, where I did some significant actions.  I glued the stone bridge lower abutments into position, and then hot-glued some plastic stone castings to cover the wood bridge's abutments.  For a long time, I've resisted doing that, because it's "permanent".  In both cases, the actual bridge slides over the parts I've glued into position, so I can work on the creek bed underneath.  Next step will be to start sealing that creek bed.  I got some small tubes of paintable caulk, but there are some big gaps to fill and I need to take care of those first.
