TomO/Tloc

Good morning from the land of Cheese. It's 26f degrees rising from 23 90 minutes ago. High later of 56!

I'm not ready for the cold yet. Wore a Winter coat to the hockey rink last night and it seemed nicer in the arena that it did on the walk in the parking lot. Grandson's team won 7-5. He played well with a couple assists. The coach in the team email last night called him his Swiss Army knife. Brooks can play comfortably anywhere and since they were short handed 3 players he did!

The daughter asked for some help on a doll house furniture order due to ship the 20th. Needs it painted but did not tell me when. So I'm walking over to the shop in a few minutes to sort my own projects. I have 10 ScaleTrain covered hoppers stripped now for a couple months. I am going to paint them for my Wisconsin Interstate railroad and try to sell them to people who have told me they want them. The tree project is still have a few for touch up and it's done.

Pictured below is the top deck of the UP of Michigan entrance scene I've been part of. This is from yesterday as the work session ended. It's a project I've invested a lot of time and effort into. It will be awhile before I can get back to help the guys but they are doing a great job without me

Morning Everyone,

It's a cloudy 44 only going to 48 with more rain expected which we can use.

Tom thanks for the coffee and you can never go wrong with biscuits & Gravy...yum. Have fun at the SBG; I'm sure there'll be a plethora Of BS'ing going on.

Curt good to hear your medical issues are turning around. Enjoy the SBG today.

Tom O. sounds like the GS is quite the hockey player! Careful with the doll house furniture or you may end up with a new hobby.

How's the rest of you Geezers doing?

Yesterday I managed to get in some bench time and hope to post an update today. The trees are bare and the leaves are all mulched so now I have one less thing to do until you know what starts flying.

Have an enjoyable and safe day!! Be well.

Good morning everyone.

Had some frost last night and it's still just 32 now, sunny and a high of 54 today.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Have fun BS'ing.

Larry, I'll look for your update tonight.

TomO, congratulations to your grandson and the scenery looks excellent.

Curt, great news from the VA.

Jerry, what phones did you get?

Greg, good morning.

Ron, good luck with your search.

Philip, hope it's warmer today.

Karl, that's a great company to deal with and good luck find those instructions.

Dave, how long did service take?

How's everyone else?

Star and I did a nice hike at the park.
Afterward I did something I haven't done in a while.
I got a six pack of porters and got a pepperoni pizza and work.
Both were good.
Short day at work today.

This is from last year at Yosemite.

Have a great day everyone.

Yosemite is at the top of my US bucket list, great photo!

Last night I drove through a heavy thunderstorm, by the time I got home I was beat.  (But better me than my wife, the reason was taking her car to the dealership for some dealer-specific maintenance.  The brakes we can get done locally.)

Scotch Club for today called off, combination of rain and host is feeling under-the-weather after flying home from Texas.  Bummer!  But more time for the layout.

Morning Tom and crew!

Coffee for me Tom! TY!

The fall colors are wonderful!

I have been at the bench every day doing all kind of small projects.
Decking and skirting 2 Bachmann flats that started life as box cars.

Got the drive for the HO hustler. Turned out to be a Lionel HO Husky.  Piddling with it. The Athearn Hustler shell fits it perfectly. I may make it On30...

Making a pattern in 3d for another row boat, version 4. Print keeps messing up! Named Geezer on the side!

Reworking motor mounts on a Athearn SW1500 to On30. The old ones crumbled after 40 years. Found a file perhaps from Thingiverse ?

Have a great week-end!

Bright overcast, 40s going to 50 or so. Chilly.

Dinner last night at friends' was great, nice turkey dinner with ALL the fixin's and still full this am.  Nice break.

Took a quick trip over to the W side of Grd Rapids yesterday.  Picked up some decals and a couple boxes of "chain link" fence by Busch at the 'estate' shop while the Doll feasted on sales at the two shops she likes there.  Also visited the coffee roasting shop for some of the stuff she drinks.  She is off to the antique shop she used to run for their holiday sale.  I'm stuck at home sitting at the bench. ::) Me and brer Rabbit

Football today is this evening.  The mediocre to start the season SPARTANS are sorely depleted, 3rd up QB is starting if I heard right.  No expectations of even entertainment value, yet the A2 team aren't that great since cheatin' Jimmy's days ended.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom, you're up early this morning.  Enjoy the SBG today.

Curt, have fun at Tom's.

TomO, Swiss army knives in hockey are hard to find, you must be proud of the grandson.  The entrance scene is looking great.  Have fun painting the hoppers.

Larry, looking forward to the update.

Rick, a six pack of Porters and a Pizza sounds like a party.  Have fun at work.

Dave, Sorry to hear about the scotch club, but the bright side is you get more time on the layout.

Philip, sounds like you have an interesting project going on.

Karl, sounds like you and the Mrs. have had a busy couple of days.  For me the Canes play the Fighting Irish tonight (Go Canes), should be a good game  Have fun in the train room today.

Current weather here is 8c (46f) and overcast with rain in the forecast.  Like Dave, it's a great day to work on the layout.  After spending the day working at home, I spent the evening trying to figure out how to home planetary stepper motors as there is no "0".  They either go clockwise or counterclockwise by steps.  The most efficient way to "home" them that I found is with a limit switch so I ordered a bunch if micro limit switches from Amazon.  I usually order my electronic components from either AliExpress or Banggood, but I really want to figure this out and not wait for parts.  My Amazon order should arrive today.  Today's plan is to figure out the coding for an Arduino Nano and hopefully build the prototype.  Exciting times ahead.

Have a great day everyone.
