Howdy. 

I fell awake even earlier than normal this morning. Oh well, so it goes. 

We finally got some rain. It didn't last long enough though. Parts of my yard are way too dry. 

Pictured here is a view of a bridge over the Mystic River. My wife and I spent a day at Mystic while on our anniversary trip last year. If you have a chance to spend the day in Mystic, go.

Good morning all. Nice and cool here in the northeast this morning.  If I'm going to do anything outside this weekend it will have to be today because heavy rain will be around most of tomorrow. I wonder if buying a new carriage was as much aggravation in the late 19th century as buying a vehicle today..

Cool bridge, Jaime.  You'd think they'd have made it higher so it doesn't have to open for every rowboat that goes by.

Neat pic, Ray.  Yes, I'm sure the dealer told them they really needed the undercoating and ceramic clear coat.

High of 83 later.  Mostly sunny.  Need to enjoy it today as we have a chance of rain every day for the next seven.  Guess I'll be mowing later. 

It's Iowa State/Iowa game here today, so we won't be trying to drive anywhere.  The game is early evening, but traffic will be bad all day.

I've spent the last two days making this turnout control/indicator for the East Yard.  It didn't go well, mistakes were made and there were some swears, but it's done.  One issue was the fascia is curved here and it was a difficult fit.  I  won't do that again.

Sun and warmer in MI today, back to 80^o a bit later and more humid.  Yesterday was a perfect 75^o and sunny all day .  Spent some bench time and mid day the Doll and I drove to Grand Rapids, she hit a couple of stores she likes and I hit the model rail 'estate' store. Traffic was horrendous, had a schoolbus in the curb lane start to make a wide turn by swinging into my lane,    near miss! So instead of heading across town to the burger joint we like I headed bay to the expressway and out of the area.  Went to a sub shop closer to home.

Few plans for today, prepping for a trip N for our anniversary, most likely traveling Monday. 

Little to add, nice photos Jaime and Raymo.  I can't help but wonder what the carriage shop was before it's "current" use.  Impressive bridge in Mystic.  I've been to Mystic...Georgia.  It was a little bump in the road a few miles from my grand parents farm in deep South GA.  Only memory is the one eyed butcher with an empty eye hole and a filthy apron Not sure it would be allowed these days to run such a place.

I haven't been to Mystic, but it's on the list.  Strawberry Bank, in neighboring Portsmouth NH, is an interesting visit, because they have houses from the 1600s to the 1950s.

There was an 'audible' late Scotch Club meet last night, I stopped by for one taste walking the dogs before bed.  I think there'll be another this afternoon, although some people can't make it.  

I'm still trying to figure out how to get Lightburn to work with the new laser.  I have something to try after exercise machine today.  Will report back...
