I'm back from the past 

Today we celebrate the 94th anniversary of my home church. I've only been a member for the past 4 years though. 

Back in the day, if you had lots of money you owned a fancy horse drawn carriage and built a separate building to store it. The photo below is a fancy old carriage in Charleston, SC left unused in its storage building. I guess you could call it a garage/barn find.

Good morning!  When I took the dogs out15 minutes ago, there was some sun, but now the clouds have taken over.  Rain this afternoon.  High of 60 will make for a chilly day.  It's World Paella Day.  https://mykitcheninspain.blogspot.com/2026/09/celebrate-world-paella-day.html

Yesterday's accomplishment (besides getting stuff for paella) was adding a small piece of pegboard next to the laser cutter, to hang up the tools.  That includes cheap (digital) in/mm calipers, an 18" in/mm ruler, the little tool kit that came with the laser, a pencil holder, and a water bottle Just In Case something catches fire.  Today I probably won't do anything with it. the Stillers are playing the Patriots and the game is on local TV.

Good morning, Jaime, Dave and those getting up slower.  My weather is Dave's, and the chickens' food is set out inside my combine shed.  There's some work I need to do outdoors, so I'll take a brief look around the Forum as I breakfast.

Not too much going on down here. It's pleasant outside, at the moment, but that probably won't last too much longer.

I'm still working on some small stuff at the workbench. My next build thread won't start until I get together with Terry (Vietnam Seebee) and pick up an O Scale that's currently in his possession.

Clouds and cool breeze in the UP while it's raining back home in the lower mitten.

Last night's football was mediocre, some positive sign but God's team was nearly overwhelming at times and quite good at others.

Little accomplished here yesterday after the township history event we attended.

Headed home tomorrow morning. Putting things away here today.

Morning all,

Didn't sleep well as it stormed on and off most of the night.  My sump pumps are running about every five minutes. 

Hawkeyes had an easy time yesterday winning 55-0.  Hopefully the Patriots will do a similar act today.

I posted the following on the Geezer's Lounge.

Pam and I had lunch with Bill and Cindy yesterday. Cindy thinks he is doing really well. I don't agree. I've seen him several times in the past few months and his walking isn't getting any better. Several or our friends agree with me. I don't see much improvement. He needs help to get up to the table. And,  its hard for him to get up from the table.

We agreed we will try a SBG in early November. I'm very concerned that it will be hard on him to get from the car, around the pool, into the shed and then to his chair in the corner where our command station is located.

When this does happen, I'll make sure Curt is available. He is a past EMT with the fire dept.. I won't attempt to get Bill in here without his help. I wish the news was better, but it isn't.

Now some news on me. I have 7 days of radiation left, I hope I make it.  For the past week I've been getting the EBRT, External Based Radiation Treatment. Although it is called external, it is basically a radiation treatment focusing on where the prostrate was prior to removal in 2017. The side effect is a radiation burn of the Urethra at the bottom of the bladder. This causes the feeling of needing to urinate (there is no time to find a bathroom) and only a few drops as a result. Oh, and it burns like H**l. There is no infection, just the result of the fried radiation area. More information than you all needed to read but this should answer the emails I've been getting.
