Great joint...is that like a dremel tool?

John
thanks guys. And john yes it is. But the pen style engraver gives you more control of the tool. My dremel is way to big to hold somewhat  steady.

Rusty,
Excellent job finishing up the corners.  I cannot tell where you engraved the mortar lines, and where they join the factory mortar lines.  I have a different RDA kit that utilizes the same stone walls, so I am very interested in your progress.  Great tip about the pen engraver, think I'll add that to Santa's list!
I built a clapboard style RDA kit (The Riverbend Store) and the windows were not an exact fit, but with a little work, they look OK.  I could not get the freight doors to fit as well as I wanted, so scratched some from styrene.  I think I have it about half built, and just lost interest.  Maybe I should add a longer attention span to Santa's list, too!

Up early today with coffee in hand headed down to the bench and sanded the seams.the seam was not to my likings so i added more putty. My mistake  before happened  when i was sanding so this time a used a piece of 2x4 lifted off the bench to suspend off the table while i sand. Now i cant slide my work up to the corner  and have more support.  No off to the train club open house is around the corner. I need time anyways to let the putty dry. Have a great day people

Its been a while for since last update.. works been nuts. Anyways. So here is the paint that i used.. sorry i didnt take more pics. I was unsure  of the outcome. So first off i took a 2in wide sponge and covered the entire  model  with the mushroom  color wash very little color. Did the same with the burnt sienna not in the pic but not over everthing. Then painted random with the other colors. Again very light washes and building the colors up. After all that was done i took the black even a lighter  wash and went over the whole thing again.

If you have some chalks or pastels, try applying some to individual stones.  Stipple some color onto the stone then lightly spread it out.  Don't forget to seal with something like Dullcote before applying any washes.  Since Dullcote will tone down the stones, don't be afraid to somewhat 'overdue' the chalk colors.

Thanks dave. Bc i was not completely  satisfied with the way it was looking. I mean it looks good but not 100% to my liking. I was gonna play around with it tonight. And yes gettin a shot of dull coat. Thanks for the feedback. This is my first plastic / resin kit ever. So still learning  how to paint with out getting the harsh painted look.
Thanks again
