I wanted the walls to have a certain look. The hoist was steam driven. That means there would have been a great deal of moisture around to rot the wood in different areas. Especially cracks and where ever it could escape. Looking through some old steam pics and videos I saw a lot of this. Here are a few pics of the board on board construction.

Here are a few shots of one of the walls finished.

I have a few more done. I will get these finished up and post some pics soon.

More to come soon............

Dustin,

Wonderful build and weathering.  Love the board-on-board distressing.  This is a great clinic for me.  Thanks.

Hi dusatin:

Wall look great so far. Whose stains are you using and what colors are they. I like them. Gives great variation.

Thanks Donato and Karl.

Karl- the stains are from builders in scale.
Silverwood and Deadwood. I also mix the two together to get another variation. The boards were also stained with Brett's chalk method and then painted with a country grey paint that was lightly sanded away. I know it seems like a lot for each board but I think it's the only way you can get that look.

Thanks for the kind words  guys. Have been working on the windows and should have those together soon.

Mike, he loved the movie. He had binge watched all the previous movies the week prior. I was pretty excited myself though.

Brett's new kit is a thing of beauty.
