Hi everyone!

Today, I have a blast from the past, so to speak. Anyone remember this kit? I built this a few years ago, taking liberties with the construction and adding to it or as the Disney people like to say, "plussing it".  ;) As you can see I really like derelict structures...there's so much character to them! This is one building that I would love to scratch build board by board. Maybe a project for another time...
Enjoy the pics!

I specially like the colour on the bricks....

Kim,

Though not my cup of tea, subject wise, you are truly a artist! Super excellent work!

And yes, I remember that kit, I built a couple of Alexander Scale Model kits way back when, and had that one in my stash, but it got sold off.

Thanks for sharing.

Great looking Build Kimberly.  You are a true Craftsman, or is it Craftswomen.

Thanks! I am very happy with the way the chimney came out. I was never happy with the original so I decided to hand carve this one out of clay. I have decided if you don't like something about a kit, try to do it better yourself.  ;)

I am with you on that one Kim. I mostly scratch, build but when I do build a kit it seems to always have slight changes in it.

Dave Frary told me that one was a real pain in the 'posterior' to assemble, particularly the roof.  Looks great!

Hi Kim:

Yes I remember that kit very well along with all of their other kits. Never built that one but did build some of their other kits.

Hi Kim,

I built this kit 55 years ago or there about, and I still have it.  It doesn't look like yours though. Mine looks like a mansion where the president of the railroad might live in, not his ghost. But I like yours very much.  It has a lot of character.

Great work,

I love that stuff! I think I'd love to have a whole layout that wonderfully decrepit. Nice job!
