Good idea, Dave. I've noticed that on real barns...thanks! 👍🏻

Added some more color under the eaves...enough?  Hoping the inkahol will help it blend.

A lot of the barns here in northern Illinois also have these quilt decorations on them. Was thinking of adding one at each end. Properly faded/weathered, of course.

That looks good, let's see how the alcohol and ink blends things together.

Here's a nice well-weathered barn for inspiration.

Dave,
Nice modeling.  I guess your visit to uncle George's has given you the inspirational modeling/weathering bug to the core.  Keep doin, what you're doin.  Thanx Thom...

Now, THAT's a weathered barn! Thom, I'm already planning a return trip next year. 👍🏻👍🏻

Dave, the barn is coming along nicely.  The "barn quilts" are a nice touch.  I don't think I'd go too heavy on the A&I, the boards have a nice faded look.  The lights look nice, Groovy, but do I smell smoke?   ;D

Dave,
I agree with Jeff on the wash. Take normal strength and dilute 2 to 1.(meaning 1 part AI to 2 more parts A) I made a little batch awhile ago, and still have some left. This way you can always add more in spots to give some color variation.

Thanks Jeff, Liren, Tom. Seamped with schoolwork last night but I did a very light inkahol wash. Pix and updates when I can steal a few minutes.

Dave, The barn in the Penn's Woods (Pa.?) picture offers some great weathering ideas. The roof seems to be in much better shape.

Bought 18 Testors washes @6.49 each at Michaels.  Discount was 27 dollars. Over 20% off.
I like that.
