Jaxx pewter black

From experience does the Jaxx Pewter Black loose its blackening strength over time and reuse? I need to get a pint and will be using and after use probably pouring back in container or at least I'm pretty confident it can be poured back in for next time use.

I bought a pint online a few years ago. I poured about an inch in a small Tupperware container and I've colored hundreds of castings with it without changing it. I might change it out soon because it's getting cloudy and I can't see the smaller castings too well but it works great.

Soak your castings in rubbing alcohol before you blacken them. It'll help keep them from getting bubble spots when you blacken them.

Thanks Steve, I ordered a bottle lastnite. Other than cleaning any flashing , do you still have to wash them in dishsoap water or just soak them in alchohol for a bit?

I just clean the flashing and drop them in a bowl of alcohol. After I blacken them I clean and buff them with a blue shop towel.

Thanks, can't wait to try it, and actually I seem to recall buying a very small bottle of Blacken It from a hobby shop many years back and never opened it.
