Good morning.  Not great start to the day when your coffee maker won't work. Looks like going to get a new one is on my list to do this morning.

Ugh, what a way to start a day (and the week)!  

Our August weather continues, looks like 2 more hot and humid days.   I'll need a trip to the coffee roaster, gas station and grocery store today (in that order...)  Then probably back to more scenery.  

I -think- I found the bad connection that was causing the LED light strips to flicker.  I won't know for sure until more testing.  It was not where I thought it was, fortunately it's a location much easier to access.

Morning all,

Another hot, humid day here high of 87.  Managed almost a 2 mile walk yesterday in the heat.  My knee doesn't hurt so maybe that's improving.  I'll skip walking today but do need to mow if it doesn't rain.

I've been adding some rolling stock.  Some of these were in need of repair, missing trucks, couplers, etc.  A couple of shake the box kits and some were just RTR.  The Wabash hopper was a Proto 2000 which needed grab irons and the underworks done.  Might do a few more today.

Howdy!

I hope I'm still modeling when I get to be as old as this kind lady in the pictures below. She had several of her Z Scale layouts on display at the 2026 NMRA National Train Show. One of the layouts was inside the top cabinet of a wooden toolbox. 

It's going to be a slow-ish day at work today. I really need to be retired already if it weren't for this one project that was supposed to end this month but got re-scheduled to end February of 2027.

3" of RAIN!

Overnight T-boomer ~0330 had quite a blast ...weather guy said 7+" per hour rate for a few minutes was heaviest in the area about a block from here. Things needed it. More coming in the next couple of days. Not so hard we hope.

1:1 plans today, new chain on dewalt saw and try out new dewalt yellow chineezium mini saw. Amazon same day delivery!

Great photos Jamie, thanks, I saw that layout. 

I heard Tom Langford is making improvement with his eyes, he is having a not so great summer but he is making a good recovery so hopefully he will be able to let us know himself how everything is during the near future.

As forr myself I saw the eye doctor this morning and will see the skin doctor this afternoon. Frankly too many doctors in my life this year. In between I am working on putting glass into the 3D printed windows I made for the pickle factory. There are over 20 windows in these two buildings so I do not expect to get done today. Maybe tomorrow we will see.

I hear ya' Jim when it comes to doctors. I picked up another new one last week.  Hopefully I won't need to see him again too soon.

I just listed some of my stash in a separate thread. I'm not actively selling them on eBay or anything. Just listing them here in the off chance there's something someone has been looking for. Sorry, but I'll probably ask for a little more than $16 for each of the FSM kits.  

Working on the roof for the current build which means it's nearly finished. Roofing in not my favorite part of the build but it sure is something that's very visible.
