Good morning all,

You certainly had a few challenges getting that test done Tom.  I hope that's the end of the challenges.

Some workbench time this afternoon.  I got a mess of little projects I need to work on.  Mostly painting detail castings and what not.  Maybe a little lighting work too.  I need to get this stuff finished so I can clean off my workbench while I ponder what to build next.  ;)

Have a great one!

As I recall, MRI machines take a lot of power, that must have been quite the generator!  Glad they didn't lose any data.

Today is the city Apple Harvest Festival, we'll probably go walk around town and get our 3rd Covid shot if the line isn't too long.

Tom, good luck with your test results. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Dave, most MRI's are superconductive magnets, so they're self-sustaining. All of the electricity goes to the computer racks and critical cooling systems. If the magnet gets too warm and quenches, they're in big trouble, but basically it's just a big refrigerator magnet with some fancy life support...not losing the fresh images was a good break. Some of the lower field (often "open") MRI's are electromagnets, that you turn off at night, but those are increasingly rare.
