I've reserved lodging. I'll wait until later to pay for my registration and book airfare.

I love going out west and was suppose to go this year but medical issues stopped me. I'm going to look into going.

I just booked my hotel room...

The Convention Hotel appears to be sold out, so room rates are effectively doubled...the NNGC website lists two others "within a block", so I booked my room at the Marriot Tacoma Downtown and hope it's really just a block. I like being able to run up to my room with my loot from the vendors and unload, etc (like childhood Halloween tactics). Might want to book a room if you're thinking about it...you can always cancel.

Hope to connect with some of you there!

Gents....

I'm planning to go if there is a little resolution of the covid..... My daughter is in Portland..............130 miles south so it is an excuse to go that way........  Too far to drive every day but it is an excuse none the less.......

One of the organizers is Russell Segner............ A good friend and super modeler.

He is a Sn3 guy with an amazing railroad.    There are about 8 or 9 Sn3 railroads in the area and all are super.  And that is just S scale.

I don't know any of the HO ng boys up there however....

Traffic is a big hassle around Seattle so allow a lot of time getting around on the tour.

There are lots of things for spouse / enablers that are not railroad related close by also.

I will probably make a last minute decision as this what I'm doing with the regional NMRA convention in May.

Thanx for the prompt.

see ya
Bob

Did you ever notice how many towns are named after their water towers ! ?

John I booked at the same hotel.  Maps says it's a 5 min walk (0.2 miles).  At least we have a place to stay.  I'm not sure if the convention is at the hotel or the convention center, which is between the two hotels. We may be closer than we think.  Now we just have to wait and see if this convention happens.

John & John, if you are at the Marriot, it is really just a block...ok a bigger block away from the Show.  You should have no problem pushing a shopping cart that far every day!

We will be there as well. Not looking forward to the traffic. I worked in Bellevue for a few years commuting back and forth from Salmon Arm, to Bellevue and down to the Renton Boeing plant. Should be a great show, assuming the borders are opened by then!

I have made my reservations for the convention.  I was told I was the last one to get the special rate at the Hotel Murano.  Looking forward to it and getting together with the forum members.

Mmmmm... Perhaps I'll list my lodging reservation on eBay and pay for the new giant Fos kit 😂
