Reference Movies? Fox Movietone newsreel outtakes at U of South Carolina

I was told about this site when researching the whistle used by B&M 's Lima-built T-1 class 2-8-4 Berkshires.  I gather the wizards of finance didn't make the newsreels themselves public, but it seems when they sent a camera crew to a site, they kept themselves busy shooting footage the director might want.  The reel I link to below is from 1930. It shows most of several freights hauled by Berkshires, likely on the FItchburg Division between FItchburg and the Hoosac Tunnel.  It also has documentation shots of the whistle & bell.  I particularly like it because it shows B&M freight makeup and traffic mix that wasn't documented by "front 3/4 view" fan photographers of the day.

I don't know if it's a trick of camera perspective, but the ties seem to be pretty closely spaced. Not a trick of perception is that they are definitely different length.

The Fitchburg Division had, by a large margin, the B&M's heaviest freight traffic. It had been rebuilt in 1920 for the heavy S-1 2-10-2s. There may have been more work for the 2-8-4s delivered 1928/9.  They might have chosen a tighter tie spacing in lieu of heavier rail.
