Morning all,

Seventy here headed to 83 and rainy this morning.  No walk today, I did 5.35 miles yesterday and am a bit sore today.  Of course, compared to Rick's hikes, I look like a piker.

Going to start working on painting the detail parts for the kit today.  I couldn't find my Army Painter dry brush which does a great job so I ordered some cheaper ones on Amazon which should come today.  We'll see if they work as well.

Will flush the water heater today as I didn't get to it yesterday.   At least our water seems back to normal after the hydrant was replaced.

78 but sunny and relatively dry in SE NH at noon. I'm taking a break for lunch.  Afterwards, I'll go down and vacuum up the sawdust from yesterday's hole-in-the-wall project.  The dehumidifier hose is now more or less out of the way from the train room to the shower stall.  I have a bit more cleaning to do (the price of having a bathroom down there that is my sole responsiibilty.)  Then after taking the dogs for their mid-day walk, I'll get back to the belt shifters.  I primed the shifter levers my wood color (Badger neutral yellow).  I'll paint the metal parts a metallic black (to match the shifter arms I painted earlier this morning) and then assemble a shifter..   I'm also laying out the stuff for the foundry, a base, a piece above that replaces the ceiling joists (in part to position and hold the smokestack in position.)  Lots of little details on this project!!

Afternoon all,

Just got back to Florida from our trip up north. I'm beat from all the driving. Hope to get back to our normal routine this coming week.

Have a great one!

Late arrival, 1630hr. The all day rain has just let up, 100% humidity with bright hazy sky.  670 going to keep climbing...to[/sup]690

I spent a couple hours with some paints and water and weathered a couple dozen "2x10" pieces of strip wood.  I also amputated the rear Portion of the Rusty Stumps kit I brought along. The main section of the store is sufficient for my needs of and all structure. The extension will find a different use sometime in the future. So far, just started today, no tripwires have shown themselves.

Just finished a fine mess of fried bluegills left to us by Bob the builder who died earlier this year.  Great memories of him triggered by the fish.  He and his son built Northern Command.  Both masters of the "F" bomb. We really have had a lot of fish he's given us. Used to invite us over and fry them up for us.  Bluegills and home sliced French fries from his deep fryer. Can't do better than Bob's battered fish and chips with a running commentary of politics, dumb f-n trolls and why we drive all the way up here to look at the big lake and be in the woods.  All the beauty is blasé to them.

It's a wrap here for now be well.

BTW Did anyone go to the NMRA convention this past week in Novi, MI,?  named according to local legend as it was interurban station stop NoVI.

Glad you're home safe!  I-95 is not for the faint-hearted.

I remember fried bluegill that as a kid we'd catch in the pond across from our summer place.
