Hi Jan:

Nice progress so far. Looks like lots of work. I'll be following along.

Thanx Karl , not a real lot of work just a lot of waiting in between for drying paint and filler and such.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Jan, I was wondering if there were strips to cover the outside corners of the columns?

No there are not , they are concrete pillars so I suppose there shouldn't be any on the prototype. But I am working on exactly that at the moment , covering up those tabs.

Hi Jan:

why not try some type of stucco to fill the holes then paint. I know, try the light weight spackle with your finger tip then paint.

Jan, ok. Take a look at using Gesso. It takes paint good and can trowelled or painted on.

Vallejo makes an acrylic putty that is very easy to use, but it is also expensive.

Thanks for the tips , I used a filler that suits wood and plaster, and it seems to be working.

First filler applied.

Then sanded with an emery board.

Coat of Woodland Scenic Top Cover, I like it but not satisfied enough , so I am doing another filler - sanding - coat of paint.

Another part of the build after filler - sanding - paint.

Thanx John , for the final coat of paint I am thinking of a pinch of gray in the aged concrete, just a bit too green for me.

This is the platform build for the watertank, pretty straight forward except for one thing. The drawings in the manual are not correct.

Build it like most of you would do without reading the manual. Like in the following photo's.
