Hi Jan:

Looks great so far. Keep the photos coming.

Side view, I see that I have some trimming to do.

Different angles of the building after placing some trimming and the signs.

This is when I was confronted with the stairs , this did not go well, it's just too small and maybe I just lost my patience for a second after an hour of trying to get the steps on the stairs.

Well anyway this is how it looked after that moment of despair.

I then tried this solution , but I don't like it.

So now I will try the covered stairs.

Your tenants will appreciate those stairs in the winter!

Jan,

I think the enclosed stairs will look good and add a little different look to Saulenas. Looking good.

Thanks Sam and Karl.

Karl your color use has actually been an inspiration for this build to me , I love your use of different greens in most of your buildings. So I looked through all my paints to find exactly the greens I wanted, the Duck Egg I really like , it will be hard to not use that too often.

Jan,

I feel your pain, build these ridiculous small staircases are a real pain. I found that epoxying the top and bottom ones fist, let them dry and then do the others helped me greatly. I used to build stairs for a living and we never built any that were more that 14-16 rises. There was always a landing in the middle for such long runs. For the modeller it makes it easier to build and attach to the structure.

I suppose you saw from the photos that the top/side edge of the windows and signs had bare spots. Also, will the roof edge have fascias to hide the cracks?

Yes I saw the bare  spots and the cracks, only in the photo's though . The cracks I can paint , a facia wouldn't help much more. The bare spots , well , I can't see them with my bare eyes  ;) , remember the photo magnifies about  4-5 times. Those stairs are a little more then 1 mm in depth and about 1 mm apart in height too, that just doesn't work for me, the covered stairs do though.

At times like this I do wonder if I chose for the right scale, I love building a layout with long runs and more then a few towns, but I also love building structures and that's a lot nicer in HO or larger.

Some photo's of the finished building, touched up some spots that were visible on camera and added some details to the roof.

Nice.  I like the covered walkway better than the exposed stairs.

Thanks Jeff, I am glad I ruined the stairs.
