If you don't have to take a step backwards once in a while you're not heading forward in a new direction.  In my working days it was amazing how many people had 6 months experience 60 times. I learned something today - my modeling is getting better.

This is a quote worth framing and putting on my workshop wall.
Admirable tenacity and as a result--beautiful work.

Thank you for the kind words. The redo is paying off - I have added 5 coats of pod podge and one coat of the golden self leveling.  I think about two more coats of the self leveling and I will have the brush marks out to my satisfaction. I will have pictures to post when the last coat dries. The golden self leveling is taking most of the day to cure even with thin brushed on coats.

It's time for a progress report. I just added my third coat of Golden Self Leveling Gloss Gel over the 6 coats of Mod Podge. So here is a picture of coat number two of the mod podge. I didn't want to get to aggressive with the coat thickness but found that the more you try to move it around with the brush the more bubbles you had to deal with.  I learned that it has very little self leveling and the brush stokes dry the way you leave them.

Here is what it looked like after curing.

As I added more coats the brush strokes began to level out but I decided to add three coats of the Golden gloss leveling gel as my final coats to level things out even more.

I will finish this story later this evening.

So today, I added the final coat of Leveling Gloss Gel and finished the landforms.  I originally planned on adding the scenery and detail weathering on my workbench - but since I had Wayne Olson here today I decided to move the diorama to a position near the location where it will be planted. I can then do all the final weathering and detailing with the background right there and with the layout lighting.  Here are a few pictures as it was on the cart and ready to be moved.

For those that were concerned about it fitting through the door and into the layout room.

Wayne Olson asking if I really wanted him to help me lift this on the layout.

After the lift. I can slide it into position from here myself.

A few pictures of the structures with the background scenery - just checking.

The church is going to move. I had it there for a few weeks just testing the location.  It's to big and hurts the perspective of depth. It will be moved down into the town.
