Hi everyone.

I finished Sierra West Morton's Foundry last night. Here are some pictures of the completed scene, ready to be installed on the layout. All the details are included with the kit and I followed the instructions pretty closely.

The overall scene from the front.

Close-up of the office.

Close up of the crane area.

The table saw cutting area.

This is the backside of the scene. It won't really be visible when placed on the layout so I didn't go crazy with the details.

Close-up of the blacksmith shop.

This is the left side of the scene if facing the front.

Close-up of the coal bin area.

Lots of cool detail in this scene. The boxes represent mold boxes for the parts the foundry manufactures.

Thanks for checking out my work.

Absolutely stunning work to a wonderful kit. I also have it in HO and should move it to the top of the pile as well.

Beautiful modeling, Greg. Your colors and attention to detail are all over that model. Makes me want to build one for myself.

Hi Steve, Did the kit come with all those casting's? Dennis

Thanks everyone!

Dennis, everything you see here is from the kit. I actually have quite a few castings left over and a good amount of stripwood. The castings are super high quality also. Little to no flash, super crisp and clean. Most of the parts that represent metal are white metal, many of the other castings are resin or a combination of both. The stacks of empty boxes are laser cut wood.

I gobbled up Brett's Brass Foundry and O'Neills based on this alone! Must buys, Dennis.

Hi Craig, I just bought Sierra West Morton's Foundry. But don't see a Bret's. Dennis

Spectacular, Steve. Truly gorgeous. I always love the skill with which you paint the details. Great stuff.

Nice photography, too, BTW. All-around great post.

Thanks for sharing.

Brett Gallant is the designer/owner of Sierra West.

Brass Foundry and O'Neills Fabrication are two of his kits that I bought a couple months ago.

Vinceg — I'm seeing your signature just fine.

Thanks, Craig - I see it now, too. I just went in and resaved my profile. Perhaps that did something.

Or, perhaps I just need to be drug tested.

Wait, holiday cheer - that's it...yeah.

BTW, I also have O'Neills and the Foundry. Probably like many others, I'm waiting to see what Brett does with the Riverfront that he has been teasing for quite a while, now. Might be a good reason to design a special super-diorama into my layout.
