The following are photos of my take on the Whiteny Bent Furniture Company by South River Model Works.  The main building was actually a shelf orphan for over two years.  It's mostly a straight up build, but I did extend the tower with a windowed floor for use as a lookout, the building placement is pretty standard for this kit.  I started to work on the diorama last year, and with the ups and downs of The Modeler's Forum being online and off, I didn't bother to record many photo's during the build.  I have three areas of water and used both foam rubber sheet for the darker asphalt road, and the usual pink insulation for the lower road as concrete.  These were both firsts for me.  Not totally sold on either, but I think they came out okay, and both have their uses.

Hope you enjoy it, Mark

I also included two Fos Scale Structures, The Lucky Seven, and Kimball's printing.

I built Kimball's previously, and decided to add it to this diorama, I built up the Lucky 7 for this diorama and may highlight the 'Lucky' portion with some white since its pretty rusted up.  this is the first time I took it out into sunlight.

The vehicles were added just for photo purposes.  Not even sure what era I'll eventually decide upon.  The last shot comes from atop my hot tub, sans vehicles.

Great job!  I particularly like the roads, but the whole diorama just hangs together.

Really nice, Mark.

I like the alteration to the tower.  Like Eric, this is right up there with the best SRM kits for me.  Time for a few close up shots?

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks for the kind words, Greg, Bob, Eric, Dave and Mark.  That kit is one of my all-time favorites.  Can't believe I let the two buildings collect dust for over two years.  Scotty Mason's video build of the kit, along with Bob Van Gelder's video on scenery had a big influence on me.  I've always felt Scotty Mason's video series are, and remain, a great reference to building kits, and setting the scene.  Many of the techniques used still hold up.  I wish they had made a few more.

Mark, welcome back ! Great diorama work. Like the tower addition on the main structure and the two FOS added kits.
Yes, the Scotty Mason DVD series ones were very well done and a good reference to refer too. Hope to see more of your work in the future posted here...Tommy

Keep It Rusty

Mark, what a stunning build of these wonderful kits.
The diorama really sings with the multiple levels and varying terrain.
Really great stuff and very happy you've shared them here!
