OK, here we go........

I was gifted some fabulous bldg. dioramas for the RR; and have placed them carefully in each ones' designated spot.  It's as if they were each custom built for their particular location.  The attention to detail and craftsmanship on each one is outstanding; and the care and artistic talent presented in each offering are superb.  I wish I could create such beautiful pieces.  They not only are beautiful; but sturdy and robust enough to be bubble wrapped and shipped half way across the country by UPS of all things. 

I'm so blessed and privileged to have them on the G&D Ry.  All in all this has been a remarkable week.  I lost my only grandson, and God saved him, brought him back, and gave him (and me) a second second shot at doing this (life) right.  Then at around the same time I found out that I had recieved a message about 2 weeks earlier about a gift for the RR if I was interested.  I replied in the affirmative as soon as I could, explained my current emergency, and the wonderful donor took care of everything.  THANK YOU SIR... ..............

Here are some pictures; the donor said I should get the layout published; that he thinks it is deserving and warranted.  I don't know, there are so many layouts that are such incredible pieces of art- I would be hard pressed to think my humble offering would pass muster.  Maybe some time in the near future; right now I have a full plate of much more important issues to take care of.  But I am flattered and thankful for the kind words.

Last Wednesday the 23rd, at about 4:45pm, Gage had a massive seizure while I was driving him home from his workout at the gym.  We spent 7 days in the hospital, and he was released yesterday the 30th
GOD SAVED HIM... IT WAS NOT HIS TIME YET.  I'm unbelievably grateful and will be for the rest of my life-as will Patrice and his parents and friends. 

Wishing Gage a speedy recovery Kyle. Not scripture but the Lord does work in mysterious ways. Quite an ordeal.

Oh..... the layout is looking good! I especially like the low lying double mainline......

 The Lord 'Does His Thing' in ways we sometimes do not comprehend.

 I must not be representing the trackage very well in the photos... there's only a single mainline that runs from Grizzly to Dilapidated.  It terminates at both destinations.  The parallel trackage you see in the photo is probably the switchback mine spur running from the sector plate exit track in Dilapidated up a 4% grade to the mining spur mine entrance and tail.   The mainline runs through Dilapidated past the depot and into the sector plate entrance track where it allows enough length for my K-27 to clear the points, and enter the sector plate to be 'reversed'.

I'm glad you like the backdrop.  It's done in pastels over an acrylic base coat for the sky and basic land forms.  I haven't finished the thing yet, but I'm fixin' to get to work on it.  I need to add the rest of the land forms in Dilapidated, finish the clouds and add some in Grizzly, detail all the landforms into rockwork with my pastels, add trees and other foliage all accross the whole backdrop...etc,etc,etc.......

Here's some shots taken today of the 'overall' layout. You can see where the backdrop doesn't have all the land forms painted in around Dilapidated, and there's so much more pastel work to be done across the whole backdrop.  As it has been said...."it's a work in progress"  

Ya'll keep Gage in your prayers, he's doing much better.  Stay tuned more to come.........
